In this paper, the accuracy analysis of indoor positioning using min-max method is proposed. The distance error model is applied to estimate the distance between the transmitter and user's position with different path loss exponent and fading amount of indoor channel. The total $\mathbf{1 0 0}$ coordinates of user's positions are estimated using min-max method. The distance error at each position, probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of distance errors are illustrated. The mean of analysis distance error corresponds with the mean of measurement distance error with same path loss exponent and fading amount of indoor channel. The results show that it is possible to use this accuracy analysis to estimate the distance error in an indoor environment.

This paper proposes optimum weight parameter of weight centroid method for indoor positioning in environment with different path loss exponent and multipath fading effect. The indoor environment is defined as square with each side 10 m long. There is a transmitter installed in the center of each side. The distance error model is applied to calculate the distances between the location coordinates of user and the location coordinates of transmitters in environment with different path loss exponent and multipath fading. The total 100 location coordinates of user are estimated by using weight centroid method, varying weight parameter in the range of 1 to 10. The optimum weight parameter is defined as the case where mean of distance error of all positions is the least. The optimum weight parameter for environment with different path loss exponent and multipath fading effect is illustrated. The results show that the optimum weight parameter changes slightly with the path loss exponent and tends to change with the standard deviation of the multipath fading effect divided into 3 periods. The first period tends to increase slowly, the second period tends to increase rapidly, and the third period tends to fluctuate up and down. Moreover, the size of the indoor environment has very little impact on the optimum weight parameter. These results make it possible to select optimum weight parameter for case with path loss exponent and standard deviation of multipath fading effect that match or are close to the channel of indoor environment.

Nowadays, the indoor positioning becomes a hot topic. The accuracy is necessary to be study in order to design the positioning system. In this paper, the accuracy of min-max method is studied using distance error model for indoor positioning. The estimated distance is evaluated from distance error model by using the received signal strength (RSS) with indoor channel consists of path loos and multipath fading models. After that, the estimated distance is used with min-max method to estimate the position of receiver and calculate the distance error. The distance error of each position is illustrated. The distance error with specific path loss exponent and standard deviation of multipath fading effect is shown and studied in the terms of probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF). The results show that the distance error is low at position near transmitter, slightly increased as the path loss exponent decreases and significantly increased as the deviation of multipath fading effect increases.

This research is to study and analyze quadcopter radar cross section (RCS) in indoor and outdoor environments of L-Band primary surveillance radar (PSR), working at 1215-1350 MHz, using vector network analyzers. The research is divided into two parts, the first one is the RCS test of the quadcopter in an indoor environment compared to an outdoor environment. The second part is the RCS test of the quadcopter in an indoor environment while the quadcopter is flying in the air compared to the quadcopter mounted on a stand as in the first test. The results showed that the RCS of the quadcopter in both environments responded to the structure of the quadcopter in the same way, but the RCS of quadcopter in indoor environment has higher RCS anomality oscillation compared to the RCS of quadcopter in outdoor environment. In addition, the quadcopter that is flying in the air compared to the quadcopter mounted on a stand has found that the majority of the quadcopter' RCS is similar.

Nowadays, indoor positioning services of mobile phone with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons are increasingly used. However, due to the indoor environment has dense multipath fading, the positioning system has low accuracy. In this paper, the accuracy study of trilateration method for indoor positioning with BLE beacons is presented. The indoor environment room with 9.0 m width, 10.2 m length and 3 BLE beacons is studied. The received signal strength (RSS) of each BLE beacon is measured by using mobile phone. The distance between each BLE beacon and mobile phone is evaluated using channel model. After that, the trilateration method is used to approximate the position of mobile phone. The accuracies, which are obtained from one, average five and average ten measurements, are studied. The distance errors of all positions and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the distance error are calculated and shown. The results show that the average multiple measurements tend to decrease the distance error.

Currently, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons are widely used for positioning, especially an indoor environment. However, there is still high error due to dense multipath fading that often occurs in the indoor environment. This paper presents the accuracy study of indoor positioning with BLE beacons. The indoor environment is the room of 91.8 m2 with 3 BLE beacons. The user equipment (UE), iPhone XS Max, with Beacon Analyzer application is used to measure the received signal strength (RSS) of each BLE beacon. Fingerprinting technique with least root mean square (RMS) error matching is used to estimate the position of UE. The accuracy that obtained from single measurement and average five measurements is studied. The RSS fingerprint of each BLE beacon is shown. The cumulative distribution function (CDF) of distance error is evaluated and illustrated. From the results, the average five measurements can reduce the average distance error about 0.86 m.

Wireless ultra-wideband communications technology (WUWB) is a fast popular technology because many unique attractive features that promotes development about wireless communications, networking. WUWB has so high elevated and also allows the force spectral intensity to be so few, and the force limits on UWB are being severely limited by the regulatory bodies. Technology offers plenty advantages, particularly about terms of so high data transmission rates which are good above those probable with currently deployed technologies. The optimization of data transmission is to use multiantenna WUWB method. So, as an alternative, a multiantenna can be used to reduce the error rate as well as improve the quality and capability of wireless transmission by directing, with an aim to adventure the spatial diversity in the channel. The benefits of such a system can be found in independent relationships. This paper presents the spatial effects about transmitter/receiver relations for multiantenna UWB systems under line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) situation. A comparison results exhibit that the relations reduce as the antenna length expand for the scenario. In the example of a NLOS situation, the relations does not rely on the spacing.

Reference signal received power (RSRP) is an important parameter, which is used to consider the handover between cells of long term evolution (LTE) mobile phone. In this paper, the RSRP of LTE mobile phone on Thailand's national highway is studied. The user equipment (UE), Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime smartphone with service mode, is used to measure the RSRP of all 3 LTE mobile phone operators on Thailand's national highways no. 3 and 361 in Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province. The RSRP along the highways is shown and is studied in terms of probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of Gaussian distribution. The obtained statistical characteristics of RSRP are discussed in conclusion.

Radio channel characteristic is a very important factor for designing indoor UWB communication network. As we know, the indoor communication channel is limited by geometry of room and some obstruction in that room such as furniture, human operator, etc. These obstructions directly affect to quality of received signal, especially human who usually obstruct receiving signal. To efficient the network designing, the influence of human body shadowing on radio propagation in building UWB communication is investigated by involving propagation prediction model. This model will predict characteristics of the received signal affected from body shadowing by considering many wave propagation phenomenons such as reflection, refraction, absorption, etc. based on ray-tracing technique. The predicted results are shown in various forms such as power loss of received signal, mean excess delay and power delay profile. To verify the validation of the model, these results will be compared with the measured results. It is found that the measurement and prediction results are closely related. ©2008 IEEE.
