Item type:Publication, A novel Zero-Current-Switching of leading and lagging-leg switches for full-bridge phase-shifted PWM DC-DC converter(2015-08-17) ;Songboonkaew, J.This paper presents a novel Zero-Current-Switching(ZCS) technique of the leading and lagging-leg switches. The leading-leg switches are achieved under ZCS by using an active auxiliary circuit and the lagging-leg switches are achieved under the ZCS by using a blocking capacitor voltage in primary side for decreasing the primary current. Moreover, the leading-lag switches are still achieved under the ZVS condition by using the energy of the leakage inductance. In this paper, the DC-DC full-bridge converter operation is described. Experimental results provided from a 1 kW 30 kHz prototype and validated the feasibility. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of three-level full -bridge ZVZCS PWM converter with simple auxiliary circuit(2012-10-02) ;Songboonkaew, J.This paper proposes a three-level full-bridge ZVZCS converter with ZVS turn on and ZCS turn off conditions using a simple auxiliary circuit on secondary side. The primary current is reset in order to reduce circulating current in transformer and voltage stress and spike voltage of diode bridge rectifier on secondary side. The control strategy uses double phase-shift PWM to control output voltage. Therefore, the lower breakdown voltage of diodes, the smaller LC filter. The simple auxiliary circuit can help to maintain output voltage. Also, The experimental and simulation results from a 100 V/10 A, 60 kHz are also presented, which is used to verify the theoretical analysis. © 2012 IEEE.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An asymmetrical half-bridge forward converter with current doubler(2010-07-30); Songboonkaew, J.This paper presents the analysis and design of an asymmetrical half-bridge forward converter with current doubler. This converter can minimize the switching power loss by realizing the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) during the turn-on conditions. The principle of the converter operation is explained and analyzed. In order to achieve the ZVS conditions, the required interlock delay time between gate signals of two switches, the leakage transformer inductance is needed. The simulation results from a 30 V/20 A 80 kHz are also presented, which is used to verify the theoretical analysis.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of three-level ZVS PWM inverter for induction heating applications(2007-12-01) ;Jangwanitler, A. ;Songboonkaew, J. ;Thammasiriroj, W.Balda, J. C.This paper presents an operation analysis of a high frequency three-level (TL) PWM inverter applied for an induction heating applications. The feature of TL inverter is to achieve zero-voltage switching (ZVS) at above the resonant frequency. The circuit has been modified from the full-bridge inverter to reach high-voltage with low-harmonic output. The device voltage stresses are controlled in a half of the dc input voltage. The prototype operated between 70 and 78 kHz at the dc voltage rating of 580 V can supply the output power rating up to 3000 W. The iron has been heated and hardened at the temperature up to 800°C. In addition, the experiments have been successfully tested and compared with the simulations. ©2006 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A soft-switched ac-dc symmetrical boost converter with power factor correction(2007-12-01); Songboonkaew, J.This paper presents a soft-switched ac-dc symmetrical boost converter with power factor correction. The rectifier is modified boost voltage that is well suited for low line input applications and operated with half of the switch voltage stress than those found in standard boost converter. Soft-switching in the boost converter is achieved under Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS) turn on and Zero-Current Switching (ZCS) at turn on, quasi resonant technique. In this paper, the operation principle and operation mode are demonstrated. The experimental results obtained from a prototype are agreement with the simulation ones. © 2007 IEEE.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Evaluation of conducted EMI emissions on ZVZCS PWM dc-dc converters with a fixed switching frequency(2005-12-01); Songboonkaew, J.This paper presents a comparative study between a Zero-Voltage and Zero-Current Switching Full-Bridge (ZVZCS-FB) dc-dc converter and ZVZCS-Three-Level (TL) dc-dc converter. Both converters uses Phase-Shifted PulseWidth Modulation (PS-PWM) strategy. The paper describes the operating characteristics and analyzes the performance of both converters, includes a comparison of conducted ElectroMagnetic Interference (EMI) emissions from both converters, and provides experimental results that are in good agreement with the theoretical ones. © 2005 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A comparison of zero-voltage and zero-current switching phase-shifted PWM DC-DC converters(2005-12-01); Songboonkaew, J.This paper presents a comparative study between an improved Full-Bridge(FB) Zero-Voltage and Zero-Current Switching (ZVZCS) Phase-Shifted PulseWidth Modulation (PS-PWM) dc-dc converter and an improved Three-Level(TL) ZVZCS PS-PWM dc-dc converter. Both converters operate at fixed frequency and achieve zero-voltage-switching on the leading leg of FB or outer switches of TL, and also achieve zero-current-switching on lagging leg of FB or inner switches of TL. To compare the improved FB-ZVZCS-PS-PWM dc-dc converter, the improved TL-ZVZCS-PS-PWM dc-dc converter is that the voltage across the switches is the half of the input voltage. In addition, the operational intervals and analysis are presented. Both prototypes operating at 30 kHz, rated at 300 V input voltage of FB and at 600 V input voltage of TL, and 1 kW output power at 42 V rated output voltage, have been constructed and tested in laboratory. © 2005 IEEE.
