In recent years, the voltage differencing differential difference amplifier (VDDDA) has been used in various analog signal processing circuit designs. A second-order multifunction filter with multiple-inputs and single-output (MISO) voltage mode using VDDDA as active elements is proposed in this paper. The structure of the proposed filter comprises two VDDDAs, two grounded capacitors, and two resisters. The proposed filter has a cascadability feature in a voltage-mode sys-tem, producing voltage input and voltage output at high and low impedance ports, respectively. It can offer responses for all-pass (AP), band-reject (BR), band-pass (BP), low-pass (LP), and high-pass (HP) filters without additional inverting and double gain amplifiers, as well as the matching conditions. Choosing the appro-priate input signals provides these five filter responses in the same circuit topology. With two VDDDAs, the bias currents can be utilized to electronically tune the natural frequency (ω<inf>0</inf>) independently from the quality factor (Q). Experimental results using available com-mercial ICs have supported the theoretical expectations and confirmed the practical operation of the proposed multifunction biquad filter.

This work presents the quadrature sinusoidal oscillator using two Voltage Differencing-Differential Input Buffered Amplifiers (VD-DIBAs), two resistors, and two capacitors. The VD-DIBA is an electronically controllable active building block with high input and low output impedances that can con-nect to other circuits directly without the buffers. With these distinguished features, the VD-DIBA is employed in this design. The proposed oscillator can produce two sine waves with a phase shift of 90 degrees. Over the entire tuning frequency range, the magnitude of the quadrature output voltages is constant. The proposed oscillator is independently adjustable in terms of frequency and oscillation condition. Moreover, the frequency of oscillation can be electronically and lin-early adjusted by the bias currents. The condition of oscillation is adjustable by resistors, R<inf>1</inf> and R<inf>2</inf> . The performances of the proposed quadrature oscillator are tested through the PSpice simulation and the experiment. In the simulation, the VD-DIBA is built from the 0.18 µm Taiwan Semiconductor Manufactur-ing Company (TSMC) CMOS process with ±0.9 V supply voltages. In the experiment, the VD-DIBA is implemented using the commercial ICs, LM13700, and AD830 with ±5 V supply voltages. The simulated To-tal Harmonic Distortion (THD) values of the output voltages, V<inf>o1</inf> and V<inf>o2</inf> at f<inf>0</inf> = 1.03 MHz are 1.63 % and 1.81 %, respectively. The experimental THD values of the output voltages, V<inf>o1</inf> and V<inf>o2</inf> at f<inf>0</inf> = 536.6 kHz, are 1.43 % and 1.00 %, respectively.

The voltage differencing differential input buffered amplifier (VD-DIBA) is interesting active building block for voltage-mode (VM) circuit design due to its advantage features such as electronic tuning, high impedance at input voltage ports and low impedance at output voltage port etc. In this paper, the realization of two-inputs three-outputs voltage-mode filter using VD-DIBAs is presented in this paper. The filter employs two VD-DIBAs, two resistors and two capacitors connected to ground. Four filtering responses, band-pass (BP) VM function, highpass (HP) VM function, low-pass (LP) VM function, and band-reject (BR) VM function are obtained. Two input nodes for applying input voltage signal are high impedance. The presented biquad filter employs two active devices but the quality factor (Q) is tuned without disturbing the natural frequency (ω0). Also, the natural frequency tuning is linearly and electronically done through bias current. The proposed filter is designed and simulated using VD-DIBA constructed from commercially available ICs, LM3700 and AD830. The Pspice simulation results justify the good functionality of the filtering performance.

This contribution introduces the design of new electronically controllable floating inductance simulators including lossless inductor, parallel resistor-inductor and series resistor-inductor circuits. The proposed simulators consist of two voltage differencing differential difference amplifiers (VDDDAs) as active function block with one resistor and one grounded capacitor. For real practical test and cheap cost, the VDDDA employed in this paper is constructed from commercially available ICs. The proposed active inductors don't require any critical matching condition of passive element. If second port of the proposed inductors is assigned as output voltage, it can be simply adapted to achieve low impedance output voltage node with unity or double gain amplifier which is beneficial feature. Moreover, the third order low-pass and fourth order band-pass ladder filters are designed using proposed simulators. Low impedance output voltage node and double output voltage gain of ladder filters with electronic controllability of pass-band frequency are obtained. The performances of the presented simulator circuits and ladder filters are tested by Pspice simulation and experiment using VDDDA constructed from ICs, AD830 and LM13700. The simulation and experimental results confirm with theoretical behavior. Moreover, the recommended design for chip implementation to reduce number of VDDDA is included. The recommended lossless inductor, parallel resistor-inductor and series resistor-inductor circuits consist of single VDDDA which contains plus and minus z terminals along with single resistor and single grounded capacitor.

In this paper, the design of sinusoidal oscillator which generates two output voltages with 90° degree phase difference is presented. The design procedure is started from the function block diagram to proposed oscillator using commercially available ICs. The proposed oscillator is constructed from three OTAs, one voltage summing circuit, one grounded resistor and two grounded capacitors. The frequency of the generated sinusoidal waveform is electronically and linearly controlled without disturbing the condition for oscillating of the system. With this feature, the proposed oscillator is used to generates the frequency modulation (FM) signal. The magnitude of the quadrature voltage waveform is equal during adjusting the generated frequency. A Pspice simulation and experiment are done to verify the performance of the proposed circuit. The macro models of available ICs, LM13700 and AD830 are employed for simulation. The simulation and experimental results confirm theory well as expected.
