Item type:Publication, Analysis of electric current by using MySQL database on web server for machine performance evaluation: A case study of air conditioning system(2020-10-13) ;Sriratana, Witsarut ;Khagwian, VittayaSatthamsakul, SuthamThis study developed a performance analyzing system for industrial machines by using an air conditioning system as a case study. Electricity consumption of the air conditioner compressor operating normally under controlled temperature in the room was gathered by applying the principle of quantitative data collection. Work efficiency of the system was analyzed by using the big data pattern. Due to sufficient information, it can further contribute to the application of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in analysis of the failures or causes of machine malfunctions. Data collecting system in this study was designed to analyze electric current and various parameters including power voltage, temperature and humidity, real power and power factor in order to recheck as well as increase the reliability of the system. All collected data were stored in the MySQL database on a web server and managed by phpMyAdmin that could allow users to access the information chronologically on daily, monthly, or yearly basis via a computer screen. The test results showed that the designed system was accurate with a small variation about 0.07 A or 1.78% compared to the standard digital ammeter. For power voltage, an average difference compared to the standard digital voltmeter was approximately 0.4 V or about 0.17%. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Applying radar chart for process control behavior(2018-06-08) ;Pongswatd, SawaiSmerpitak, KritThis paper presents the technique to show the controller parameters value that can support decision making of controller action and instruments, actuator operation. In addition, energy consumption is detected of any points of process operation. The paper describes method to detect and collect the assigned process control parameters from process components then display their parameters by radar chart. All of assigned parameters are used to construct the plotted of radar figure. The paper designs background and foreground by representation with rectangular array and length of each spoke in radar chart is proportional to magnitude of set value(SV), manipulate value(MV), process value(PV) of PID controller parameters. In addition, watt power (W) of energy consumption in the process is detected and stored. Each spoke of radar chart represents each parameter that converts to scale as 0-100%. The script functions are developed at the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) station to detect, collect and scale, then store detected parameters in database. The experiments perform in case study of level loop control of water tank processes by using a proportion-integral-derivative (PID) function in the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Wonderware InTouch SCADA software. The technique can apply for exiting SCADA to create the radar chart. Nevertheless, the new version of SCADA software can support the feature but it depends on cost license fee. Moreover, the technique can support the operators and engineers to make decision of process devices performance (instrument, actuator, controller), process operation and condition. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and implementation of internet-based remote monitoring for continuous vacuum pans in sugar factory(2018-05-01) ;Pongswatd, Sawai ;Smerpitak, Krit ;Weerathaweemas, SongchaiChamnanakson, SaithanThis paper presents a practical technique to design and implement the Inter- net-based system for remotely monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) in operation of vacuum pans for sugar crystallization by using supervisory control and data acquisi- tion (SCADA) software, which provides web-enabled human machine interface (HMI). The remote monitoring system for the DECHAROEN™ continuous vacuum pans is de- scribed as an illustrative case study to verify the proposed technique performance. At the remote site, the programs (or script functions) based on web services were developed for detecting and collecting the KPIs in the text file format from the operator workstation of the host system in the raw sugar plant. The created text files are transferred to the data center through the Internet. At the data center, the database was created using XAMPP software, and the website and web pages were built using HTML and CSS. The proposed system can be useful in performance analysis for continuous quality improvement. Experimental results demonstrating the proposed monitoring system are also included.
