Item type:Publication, An asymmetrical half-bridge forward converter with current doubler(2010-07-30); Songboonkaew, J.This paper presents the analysis and design of an asymmetrical half-bridge forward converter with current doubler. This converter can minimize the switching power loss by realizing the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) during the turn-on conditions. The principle of the converter operation is explained and analyzed. In order to achieve the ZVS conditions, the required interlock delay time between gate signals of two switches, the leakage transformer inductance is needed. The simulation results from a 30 V/20 A 80 kHz are also presented, which is used to verify the theoretical analysis.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A half-bridge dc/dc converter for plasma cutting machine(2007-12-01) ;Sanajit, N.This paper presents the design and construction of a plasma cutting machine by using a half-bridge dc/dc converter for negative direct current power supply and initial exicting are by a high voltage high frequency circuit. when the gas passes a torch electrod, it will explode to be plasma are and transfer to the work piece. This process has been designed for an output power of plasma cutting machine at 2 kW by employing Isolate Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) as switches. The switching frequency is 20 kHz. The plasma cutting machine can cut 1 mm of steel. When compared with a linear transformer plasma cutting machine, the designed plasma cutting machine has an efficiency quite similar. In addition, the plasma cutting machine is small, light, and compatible. © 2007 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of a half-bridge inverter for a small-size induction cooker using positive-negative phase-shift control under ZVS and NON-ZVS operation(2007-12-01) ;Achara, P. ;Viriya, P.Matsuse, K.This paper presents a detailed analysis of circuit operation under ZVS and NON-ZVS conditions in a high-frequency half-bridge inverter for a small-size and low-voltage induction cooker, using the principle of positivenegative phase-shift control over a wide control range both in positive and negative directions. A variety of modes of circuit operation with the voltage and current equations during phase-shift power control under the operating conditions of ZVS and NON-ZVS are analyzed as a first step and the output voltage and current waveforms are obtained by MATLAB program. These waveforms will be analyzed by Fourier analysis which can lead further to the calculation of ac output power P<inf>0</inf>, dc input power P<inf>d</inf>, and hence the conversion efficiency η of the half-bridge inverter. The analysis results shows that the control ranges of ac output power P<inf>0</inf> and dc input power P<inf>d</inf> are limited by the occurrence of NON-ZVS operating condition, which changes according to the switching frequency f<inf>s</inf>. © 2007 IEEE.
