Item type:Publication, Discrete-time PIDA controller designed by Tustin's method with and without frequency pre-warping(2018-06-08) ;Ukakimaparn, Prapart ;Khwunthong, Mathee ;Trisuwannawat, ThanitPannil, PittayaThis paper proposes the formula used for finding the continuous-time PIDA (Proportional-Integral-Derivative-Acceleration) controller's parameters based on pole placement technique. Also, provide the formulas for designing the discrete-time PIDA controllers for both of Tustin's method with and without frequency pre-warping. The designers can use the frequency pre-warping to get the better specification as desired. Moreover, as both of these discrete-time PIDA controllers, theirs transfer functions are proper. Then, they are easy to implement in real-time by the Observable Canonical Form of the difference equations. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design of discrete-time pida controller using kitti’s method with first-order hold discretization(2018-06-01) ;Pannil, Pittaya ;Sungsorn, Teenapong ;Trisuwannawat, ThanitUkakimaparn, PrapartThis paper proposes a successful technique to design a discrete-time (DT) proportional-integral-derivative-acceleration (PIDA) controller for third-order plants. The proposed technique consists of three major steps: discretization of the controlled plant using the first-order hold (FOH) method, discretization of the continuous-time (CT) PIDA controller structure using the delayed first-order hold (DFOH) method to achieve the DT PIDA controller structure, and design of the target controller using the Kitti’s method. Simulation results confirm that the controller designed by utilizing the proposed technique provides equivalent performances compared to a conventional CT controller and a DT controller discretized by utilizing the Tustin’s method. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, PIDA Controller Realized on Commercial IC Current Feedback Operational Amplifiers(2017-01-01) ;Buakaew, S. ;Narksarp, W. ;Wongtaychatham, C.Sangpisit, W.In this paper, the circuit-realization of the proportional – integral – derivative – acceleration (PIDA) controller is presented. The circuit is realized with commercially available active components i.e. only four current feedback operational amplifiers (CFOAs) along with passive R and C components. The parameters of the PIDA controller including the proportional gain, the integral time, the derivative time and acceleration gain can be easily adjusted via these resistors and/or capacitors. The proposed PIDA controller offers simple structure with a small number of active elements to be used. The computer simulations results utilizing commercial IC AD844 are demonstrated to confirm the validity of the proposed PIDA controllers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, PIDA controller designed by Kitti's method(2009-12-01) ;Ukakimaparn, Prapart ;Pannil, Pittaya ;Boonchuay, PeerapongpanTrisuwannawat, ThanitThis paper presents a new method for designing the PIDA (Proportional-Integral-Derivative-Acceleration) Controller for a third order system. The results from simulations shown that all desired specifications can easily met by changing only one parameter. Comparing of the performances of the closed-loop in continuous-time system from this new simple method called "Kitti's Method" with the design technique proposed by Richard C. Dorf, it shown that not only faster with smaller or no overshoot response can be obtained but also the closed-loop system is robustly stable guaranteed. All merits of Kitti's Method are also being held with incorporated Root Locus Technique in discrete-time control systems design. © 2009 SICE.
