Item type:Publication, UWB Transmission Waveform Application for in an Indoor Localization System(2024-01-01) ;Mankong, Thanadon ;Promwong, SathapornBunlaksananusorn, ChaninNowadays, the indoor localization systems had been widely utilized. The popular use of localization system is the global position system (GPS). However, the system fails in particular environments such as indoors because low received signal power. It is not appropriate to take a position. The indoor localization system was used to assist in finding a position in an indoor environment. There are several techniques used to evaluate. Technique trilateration model is a technique of geometric. This technique leverages circular intersections to estimate target positions. The circles are derived from a set of reference positions. This paper studies on indoor positioning in line of sight (LOS) using by IEEE 802.15.4 standard in ultra wideband option which this study employs trilateration to estimate the position of target objects. Biconical antennas with vertical polarization serve as both transmitting and receiving elements. The evaluation is conducted using a vector network analyzer (VNA) across a frequency range of 3GHz to 11GHz. The positioning accuracy will be assessed in terms of distance error. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Experimental evaluation scheme of ultra-wideband human body transmission model for wireless body area network(2018-01-01) ;Chaisang, AditepPromwong, SathapornThe body area network (BAN) working on IEEE 802.15.6 is a wireless short-range communication system that is smaller in coverage than the personal area network (PAN) IEEE802.15.3a. A wireless body area network (WBAN) is a wireless technology with a human body that is becoming a key part of short-range radio wave systems and wireless medical technology. The transfer function characteristics of the human body and the transmission loss due to the human body should be studied. Short-range radio wave applications with a human body are more complicated than additional uses. Therefore, realizing the distribution channel characteristics of the human body with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is important. UWB technology has a very large bandwidth, low power, and low cost, which can be used in shortrange systems. In this paper, we present the characterization measurement data of the UWBHB channel transfer function based on the human body effect with and without human body in WBAN system. In this study, we maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contemplate the matched filter at the receiver. The outcomes are analyzed and evaluated on the basis of Friis' formula. The proposed method achieves very precise results and is convenient for the evaluation and design of the waveform of WBAN transmission in wireless medical applications and BAN systems, mainly focusing on the input waveform effect. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Ultra wireless transmission waveform measurement with IEEE802.15.3a(2013-12-31) ;Promwong, Sathaporn ;Rankhamrat, Borromwut ;Thavonsassanavong, ThaninChaiyapong, SaksitUltra wireless transmission waveform with IEEE802.15.3a or ultra wideband (UWB) band is expected to applied to wireless personal area networks (WPANs) such as the ranging in the home network and the office and broadband multimedia systems. Ultra wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) transmission waveform is investigated by using extended Friis' transmission formula baseded on measurement data. This paper, we conderation the performance system design on ultra wireless system for WiMedia area networks. The received signal and isotropic template receivers are considered based on Friis transmission formula. In this experimental study, the biconical antennas are uesd as the transmitter (Tx) and the receiver (Rx) antennas. The rectangular passband, which is satisfied the full band of UWB spectrum definition and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) indoor and outdoor limit spectral masks, is used as the transmitted UWB signal. The channels are measured in an indoor environment by using a vector network analyzer (VNA). The UWB transmission gains of received signal and isotropic template receivers are shown and compared in results. © 2013 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Wireless ultra wideband transmission experiments(2011-12-01) ;Rankhamrat, BorromwutPromwong, SathapornThe free space transmission estimation of ultra wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) was developed by using the extension of Friis' transmission formula [1]. It considered the transmitted waveform and its distortion due to the channel and the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) antennas for the free space link budget evaluation of UWB-IR. This paper presents the two path evaluation formula of the ground reflection path loss for UWB-IR systems that based on the extension of Friss' transmission formula. Since the antennas are the pulse-shaping filters in UWB-IR systems, the biconical antennas are experimentally examined, especially focusing the effect of template waveforms. © 2011 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Quantitative evaluation of wireless ultra wideband loss due to transmission gain and group delay(2011-12-01) ;Chantarawat, ChartchaiPromwong, SathapornIn this paper, we evaluated the effect of transmission gain and group delay in ultra wideband transmission by using the Friis' transmission formula. However, it is not directly applicable to ultra wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) transmission systems. This paper presents the evaluation formula in the term of transmission gain and group delay for the UWB-IR that takes into account the transmitted waveform, its distortion due to the antennas, the channel and the correlation receiver. Since the antennas are significant pulse-shaping filters in UWB impulse radio, the various kinds of the antennas are experimentally examined, especially focused on the effect of the received signal. © 2011 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Optimum receiver evaluation of ultra wideband impulse radio based on measurements data(2011-12-01) ;Phroasamniang, AmphonPromwong, SathapornUltra wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) technology is an ideal candidate for wireless UWB that can be utilized for short-range, high-speed, low power, and low cost indoor applications. The transmission gain of the free space propagation loss is usually estimated by using Friis' transmission formula. The Friis formula, it is not directly applicable to ultra wideband impulse radio network transmission systems, in particular the single band impulse radio, as the formula is expressed as a function of the frequency. Moreover, the waveform may be distorted due to the frequency characteristics of the antenna, and the comparison between Tx and Rx waveforms is not straightforward. This paper discusses the free space link budget evaluation of UWB antenna with template receiver based on the extended Friis' transmission formula. The template is considered at the receiver side to maximize the SNR for evaluation. An experimental evaluation of the complex transfer function needs the three-antenna method for the calibration of reference antenna. The technique gives very accurate results and is very useful for design and evaluation of UWB transmission performance, especially for the evaluation of waveform distortion effects. © 2011 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Evaluation of the complex form in fresnel region for UWB free space transmission model(2009-12-01) ;Juengkittikul, PhattharamonPromwong, SathapornFriis' transmission formula in complex form to treat the UWB signals to take into account the waveform distortion due to the frequency characteristics of the antennas [1], [2]. It is noted that Friis' transmission formula is applicable only in the far field region. In personal area network (PAN) environments, however, the distance may not satisfy the far field condition. In this paper, we discusses the experimental evaluation of the transmission properties in Fresnel region. ©2009 IEEE.
