Item type:Publication, Fabrication of low cost anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) tubular membrane and their application for hemodialysis(2012-10-16) ;Kasi, Ajab Khan ;Kasi, Jafar Khan ;Hasan, Mahadi ;Afzulpurkar, NitinPratontep, SirapatThis paper reports the fabrication of AAO tubular membrane using 99.35% and 99.58% pure Al and their potential application for hemodialysis. Here we discussed the effect of impurity on membrane structure. We found that the self organized structure of AAO nanochannels minimize the impurity defects in AAO membrane. If micro size impurity blocks the generation of AAO nanochannels then the neighboring nanochannels bend and make branches to fulfill that gap. We observed that if impurity size is less than the AAO membrane thickness then it does not produce micro size hole. In low grade Al the periodic hexagonal order was disturbed however there was no big difference in pore diameter. It was observed that such type of membrane does not suffer from leakage problem and it can be used for filtration. The fabricated tubular membrane was used for hemodialysis successfully. The hemodialysis results show that AAO tubular membrane can be used for both diffusive and convective filtration. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

We demonstrated the fabrication of carbon nanotube and carbon nanofiber (CNF) inside the pore and at the surface of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane by chemical vapor deposition method at atmospheric pressure. Ethanol was used as a hydrocarbon source and Co-Mo as catalyst. CNT was synthesized at different temperature. High graphitic multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) was found at 750°C, while CNF was found at 800oC and above temperature analyzing by Raman spectroscopy. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The high volume of Hard Disk Drive manufacturing is required. The cost improvements are strictly focused on yield, direct material, indirect material, and operation cost. The defect reduction is a important key to improve cost. The small percentage of defect reduction will contribute the huge profit for manufacturing due to the high volume manufacturing. The defect rework is a good idea to bring back profit from the scrap cost and the waste eliminate cost. This paper will show a alternative rework area on solder bridging defect which is a major defect in Head Gimbals Assembly process. Item type:Publication, Fabrications of three dimensional anodic aluminum oxide micro shapes(2012-05-01) ;Kasi, Jafar Khan ;Kasi, Ajab Khan ;Afzulpurkar, Nitin ;Hasan, MahadiPratontep, SirapatAnodic aluminum oxide (AAO) is one of attractive materials which are used for the fabrication of micro and nanostructures. This paper describes the fabrication of three dimensional (3D) microstructures with AAO nano porous membrane. A simple procedure has been adopted to develop microstructures using the same aluminum (Al) sample without any assistance of scaffold or molding process. Various shapes including micro conical tube, micro cone, and micro bowl structures have been fabricated. Those factors have also been analyzed which are affecting the shapes of microstructures like cracks, angle, and geometry. Item type:Publication, A solder bridging rework study and an experimental investigation of the TuMR magnetic head(2012-01-01) ;Roajanasiri, Reangroaj ;Afzulpurkar, NitinBoonsang, SiridechThe TuMR reader was designed with high sensitivity for high areal density magnetic recording in the hard disk drive. The assembly process requires the use of solder jet welding on small connectors in the head circuit. The solder bridging problem is the cause of the major mechanical yield loss. This work considers how to resolve the bridging problem without degrading the TuMR sensor by examining the use of Nd:YAG laser reheating. The use of double laser pulses yields better results than the use of single pulses. The critical parameters of the TuMR sensor are monitored with the Quasi tester. © IEICE 2012.
