Item type:Publication, Design, fabrication and operation of continuous microwave biomass carbonization system(2014-06-01) ;Payakkawan, Poomyos ;Areejit, SuwilaiSooraksa, PitikhateThis paper presents a new design and the fabrication of biomass carbonization system using microwave heating. The heating system employs multi-feed microwave generators with 8.5kW maximum power and 2.458GHz frequency for uniform heating distribution in a 0.847m3 cylindrical low cement castable reactor. The experiment entails the carbonization of 58,800kg of coconut shell for 7 days. Afterward, the charcoal and wood vinegar yields are analyzed; meanwhile, uncondensed gases are treated to fuel the engine-generator system. The results show that the proposed approach greatly saves the production time of charcoal yields and allows ease of temperature control. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Force sensor and its application to tuning fork response measurement(2013-10-29) ;Areejit, Suwilai ;Jansri, AnurakSooraksa, PitikhateGenerally, force measurement of nano-scale material widely employs a quartz tuning fork which is resonant mechanical sensors on 32.768 kHz resonance frequency and is powerful tools. But, this paper designs the sensor by using tuning fork on 3 kHz and modifies the tuning fork by a tiny pin adhesive into the end of prong. In experiment, measurements of electrical signal from piezoelectric are study of load-mass effect and pin position. 2 touching techniques are considered: a shear-force type and a tapping mode type with highly position movement system. Silicone rubber, vinyl eraser and hydrogel are elastic material for testing. Results show that both weight and position of pin is significant influencer for resonance frequency and quality factor of sensor. Finally, the tuning fork response experimentation shown this method can be applied to material classification. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Novel microwave carbonization system for coconut shells(2013-10-07) ;Payakkawan, Poomyos ;Areejit, SuwilaiSooraksa, PitikhateThis paper presented a novel heating technique of biomass carbonization system using microwave radiation. The heating system employs multi-feed microwave generators for uniform heating distribution without stirrer mechanism in a 0.847 m3 cylindrical low cement castable reactor. The experiment entailed the carbonization of 3,500 kg of coconut shell at 450°C for 10 hr. Afterward, the charcoal and wood vinegar yields were analyzed; meanwhile, uncondensed gases were treated to fuel the engine-generator system. The results show that the proposed approach greatly saves the production time of charcoal yields and allows ease of control. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Phase difference technique for material classification by using tuning fork with piezoelectric resonator(2013-10-07) ;Areejit, Suwilai ;Sooraksa, PitikhateAoyama, HisayukiA tuning fork with piezoelectric (TFP) is an electro-mechanical device; its principle performance is based on specific frequency and limited voltage. As the principle, the device can result output significantly. This paper presents a material classification using phase difference value that is received from touching between material and modified TFP. For the modified TFP, it is customized by a millimeter needle. The frequency response method on Bode plot is used to observe the modified TFP behavior, and to select a specific frequency. The first-order model with cascade notch filters is employed to identify mathematical model of the TFP, and to verify the model by simulation. Experimentation is considered on 2 touching techniques: a shear-force type and a tapping mode type. There are hard plastic, iron, silicon rubber, vinyl eraser and hydrogel for test material. The results are described by both time series plots of input-output signals and numerical table of shifted phase. The technique can employed to classify the test materials effectively and explicitly. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and implementation of continuous microwave biomass carbonization system(2012-08-10) ;Payakkawan, Poomyos ;Areejit, Suwilai ;Jansri, Anurak ;Klomkarn, KitdakornAoyama, HisayukiThis paper discusses a new design and implementation of a microwave heating for continuous biomass GHz frequency. This new technique is developed to control electromagnetic field distribution inside the microwave heating cavity reactor of biomass carbonization. A chaotic mode pattern microwave generator is used for the technique. The result shows that the technique gives the cost and time-saving, easy to control, and effective performance. © 2012 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Chaotic application for Industrial Microwave Heating System without mode-stirring mechanism(2012-08-10) ;Areejit, Suwilai ;Payakkawan, Poomyos ;Jansri, Anurak ;Klomkarn, KitdakornAoyama, HisayukiMore than two decades, chaos has been attracted many attention from scientists and engineers. Chaotic system phenomenon seems to be random for observers, but it is deterministic for a designer. System of Chaos attractors have been constructed more than a thousand of chaotic patterns. But implementation of chaos in engineering is still needed for real application. For this sake, the research objective is to search for new chaotic applications for Industrial Microwave Heating System without mode-stirring mechanism. The result shows that the performance of the proposed system is better than the conventional system in the rise of temperature. Eventually, the proposed method can be applied in the real application. © 2012 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Odor treatment system for waste management(2006-12-01) ;Areejit, SuwilaiSooraksa, PitikhateThis project is an applied research using automation technology for environment. The goal of the research is to build a prototype for waste treatment annihilating obnoxious odors. Good bacteria, which is unharmful for human, is employed for the treatment by means of automatic spraying technique. The output of the research is the prototype as desired and the outcome is knowledge transferring to communities. Based on Thai TV news about this KMITL automatic waste treatment machine, the prototype has received a great attention from many local administrative governments of many provinces in Thailand. © 2006 ICASE.
