Item type:Publication, Conductive common-mode noise reduction by system balance improvement on three phase inverter(2008-09-19) ;Boonpirom, Nimit ;Prempraneerach, Yothin ;Aunchaleevarapan, KaisonNitta, ShuichiThis paper aims for the conductive common-mode noise reduction by system balance improvement on three phase inverter. The main objective is to improve the system balance on three phase inverter based on passive balance and active balance for common-mode noise reduction. As a result, the common-mode current which is generated by PWM switching voltage will be cancelled in frame ground. The concept of system balance and equivalent circuit on double-switch converter for three phase inverter is proposed. Furthermore, the experimental results of three phase induction motor drive by three phase inverter, that is both of time domain measuring and spectrum of common-mode noise measuring are employed respectively. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A study on the system imbalance of the single-switch converter for the conductive common mode noise reduction(2007-01-01) ;Boonpirom, Nimit ;Prempraneerach, Yothin ;Paithoonwatanakij, Kitti ;Aunchaleevarapan, KraisonNitta, ShuichiThis paper reduces system imbalance by replacing the single-switch converter with a synchronized double-switch converter based on two active switches technique and hybrid balance technique, including active balance and passive balance for common mode noise reduction. The system balance is experimentally evaluated by the common mode rejection ratio (CMRR). Finally, examples show that the CMRR of the single-switch converter is improved from 1.67 dB to 32.04 dB when the double-converter with two active switches technique is applied and to 41.5 dB when the double-switch converter with hybrid balance technique is applied. Item type:Publication, Scale factor self tuning fuzzy controller(2005-12-01) ;Boonpirom, NimitPaitoonwattanakij, KittiThis paper presents a scale factor self tuning fuzzy controller (SFFC) which applies for separately excited d.c. motor speed controller. The objective is to build a scale factor self tuning Fuzzy controller for d.c. motor speed control. The advantages of using fuzzy controller are to acquire the optimal scale factor from each motor without testing the electrical and mechanical parameters and the transfer function of d.c. motor. The value of scaling factor self tuning is evaluated during the iterative operation. The performance of speed response is evaluated and create the new scale factor to use in the next loop until the optimal scale factor obtained. For the experimental results, the proposed method has been tested with a 1 kw. separately excited d.c. motor for both step response and various step loads. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Wind farm generator control using self-tuning fuzzy controller(2006-01-01) ;Boonpirom, NimitPaithoonwattanakij, KittiIn this paper, the wind farm generator controlled based on the squirrel cage induction using self-tuning fuzzy controller (SFLC) and conventional fuzzy controller (FLC) for voltage source converter (VSC) controlled in HVDC system are purposed. The performance of active power flow between induction generator and D.C link system via the sending side converter is improved by employing the SFLC of which scale factor of SFLC will be adjusted. Moreover, the FLC is also applied in the receiving side inverter in order to regulate the D.C. voltage level for the power balancing between D.C. system and grid line system. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively response to input power, output power, and D.C. voltage in case of steady state condition and the transient response when transmission line fault is occurred. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Power system stabilizer using self-tuning fuzzy controller(2005-12-01) ;Boonpirom, NimitPaithoonwattanakij, KittiThis paper presents a design of Power System Stabilizer (PSS) using self-tuning fuzzy controller (SFLC). The power system stability (PSS) would be used to enhance transient stability by increasing terminal voltage. The objective of this paper is to adjust the terminal voltage by controlling excitation voltage. Self-tuning is applied to adjust the scaling factor to increase the sensitivity of controller. For the simulation results, a comparison between without PSS, with PSS, and SFLC on multi generator system is presented. The investigated result shows that the proposed method can effectively and efficiently response to power oscillation, transient terminal voltage and damping of generator rotor angle swings. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Static voltage stability enhancement using FACTS(2005-01-01) ;Boonpirom, NimitPaitoonwattanakij, KittiVoltage stability analysis is essential for a secure power system operation. A lot of works have been developed for this analysis methods to improve voltage stability. This paper investigates the enhancement of voltage stability using FACTS devices. The objective of this paper is to enhance voltage stability based on static analysis. The continuation power flow methods are proposed in case of the increasing loading of contingency. The proposed approach is based on TCSC comparison with STATCOM compensation to increase the steady state voltage stability margin of power capability. The IEEE-6 bus system is simulated to test the increasing loadability. The advantage of this simulated method is to develop a simple, fast and convenient procedure which can be applied effectively to enhance the voltage stability.1
