Item type:Publication, Planning, Design and Installation of a Hybrid Power Filter to Power Quality Improvement for Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Systems(2020-11-24) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boosseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.This paper is a preliminary basis in the design, planning, and implementation of hybrid power filter systems (HPFs) for application in grid-connected solar rooftop at industrial plants beginning the planning and designing of a 260 kWp solar rooftop according to the factory roof size. Calculate total returns by using the PV system design software program to find the total kWh received per year. As the power system in this factory has a load that is sensitive to power quality and harmonics, it is necessary to design a harmonic protection system by choosing the HPFs to reduced and control the harmonics. Noise filters should be used to prevent high-frequency signals from entering the electrical system. In addition, lightning protection devices are also designed by using the bus bar to connect the system to the ground. All actions have been carried out in accordance with the designed plan and able to perform as intended. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparison of Harmonic Solutions to Power Quality improvement for Grid-Connected Solar Rooftop Applications in Industrial Plants(2020-07-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Kularbphettong, K.Boonseng, R.The solar rooftop installation is currently grown in Thailand, when many solar inverters are connected to the grid. It impacts existing electrical systems such as the harmonic resonance occur and malfunction of sensitive equipment. In addition, electrical circuit breakers, contactors, fuses, and power capacitors are damaged, which can affect electrical quality in the system. The impact of solar rooftop installation on the reliability and security of existing power grids must be urgently analyzed. This paper examines and selects methods to reduce the harmonic effects caused by the increase in solar inverter installation in existing power systems. The main objective of the study is to reduce distortion and harmonic resonance problems in the system, as well as to select suitable methods for solving problems. Practically, it is ensured that the passive power filter system (PPFs), active power filter system (APFs) and hybrid power filter system (HPFs) are the best solution applied for grid-connected system. A method for selecting a suitable solution for solving problems in each plant was proposed. A comparison of the solutions to all three methods has been analyzed for maximum benefit. Guidelines, procedures, and operational requirements can be applied in industrial plants. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, HPFs filtering solutions for reduced the harmonic current generated by SMPS and ac drive systems(2020-02-01) ;Kularbphettong, K.Boonseng, C.This paper proposes a reduced 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th harmonic current of all power supply units and ac drives which effects of heating neutral cables and transformer. The commercial or automation building require the operation of many parallel-connected switch mode power supply and ac drive on the same bus and transformer. Such a system significantly increases the high neutral current and power quality problems on the distribution network. The existing system mainly consists of switch mode power supply and a three phase ac drive for compressor loads (common to HVAC applications). A passive power filter (PPF) and a low rating APF (Active Power Filter) at point of common coupling (PCC) are used to power quality enhancement in the distribution system. A PPF is designed to reduce the harmonics and to compensate the reactive power in the distribution system and the APF located at an upstream position near main distribution broads (MDB), it performs the compensation for harmonic current which is produced from all of drive and for remaining harmonics after the PPFs can been operation. The Hybrid Power Filter System (HPFs) is the combination of PPF and APF which mostly use for reducing harmonic currents and improving power quality of the system. Finally, using the HPFs to solve this problem, the results can reduce distortion and neutral current. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
