Item type:Publication, Simple Techniques for Designing Passive Power Filter System to Reduced Harmonic Resonance and Improve Power Quality of Electrical Systems with Servo Drive(2020-11-24) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boosseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.The proliferation of servo drives (SD) in the industry has led to serious concerns about harmonic resonance and power quality in electrical distribution systems. This paper reported the resonance conditions of electrical systems with motor control using a small servo drive for use in CNC machines. When a large number of servo drives are combined, it results in harmonic resonance occur in the system. Resulting in the destruction of electrical equipment such as power supply, computer, CNC, or servo drive close to each other, etc. The cost of purchasing the above electrical equipment to replace the damaged ones in each month is very high. A simple passive power filter system (PPFs) design is recommended to reduced harmonic resonance. PPFs are applied to the system and the actual installation which is satisfactory and can greatly reduce the damage of electrical equipment. Item type:Publication, Planning, Design and Installation of a Hybrid Power Filter to Power Quality Improvement for Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Systems(2020-11-24) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boosseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.This paper is a preliminary basis in the design, planning, and implementation of hybrid power filter systems (HPFs) for application in grid-connected solar rooftop at industrial plants beginning the planning and designing of a 260 kWp solar rooftop according to the factory roof size. Calculate total returns by using the PV system design software program to find the total kWh received per year. As the power system in this factory has a load that is sensitive to power quality and harmonics, it is necessary to design a harmonic protection system by choosing the HPFs to reduced and control the harmonics. Noise filters should be used to prevent high-frequency signals from entering the electrical system. In addition, lightning protection devices are also designed by using the bus bar to connect the system to the ground. The effects of harmonic and subra-harmonic that are injected into the network include overheating of transformers and motor and other instrumentation that were not designed with an insensitivity to harmonic in the supply. Thus, some form of harmonic and subra-harmonic mitigation is required. The PQube3 compact instrument is simply the best power monitor and real-time sensor and it records harmonic and supra-harmonics of AC drive for dry-milling system. To reduce the harmonic current and subra-harmonic injected in the network. The Hybrid Power Filter System(HPFs) are chosen because they can solve this problem with the least cost and the same effect as active filter. Item type:Publication, The 3rd Harmonic current and Power Quality Improvements of Data Centers Using Hybrid Power Filters(2019-08-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boonseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.This paper proposes a reduced 3<sup>rd</sup> harmonic current of server power supply units which effects of heating neutral cables and transformer. The data centers require the operation of many parallel-connected switch mode power supply on the same bus and transformer. Such a system significantly increases the high neutral current and power quality problems on the distribution network. Finally, using the Hybrid Power Filter System(HPFs) to solve this problem, the results can reduce distortion in current. The HPF is the combination of Active Power Filter (APF) and Passive Power Filter (PPF) which mostly use for reducing 3<sup>rd</sup>, 5<sup>th</sup> currents and power quality improvements of the system. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and Installation of Active Filters for Power Quality Improvement for Water Treatment Plants(2019-07-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boonseng, R. ;Nilinmitr, N.Kularhpettong, K.This paper presents a simple of active power filters (APF) design techniques to minimize harmonic distortion and improve power factor caused by a harmonic source such as variable-frequency drives (VFDs) using 12-pulse converters. A method is finding the maximum rating of active power filter to minimize voltage and current harmonic distortion at a load bus where it is desired to maintain the displacement power factor at a desired level constraining the compensator value, which would create resonance condition. The water treatment plants require the operation of many parallel-connected VFDs on the same bus, such as a system significantly increases the power quality problems. The purpose of APF is sufficient to eliminate the harmonic currents, balance currents of the ac line input and increase power factor. The results show that the APF are a very appropriate solution for most typical harmonic problems, unbalanced current and power factor correction.
