Item type:Publication, Installation of an online power quality monitoring system for the industry and applications(2023-01-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Gitnumlapcharoen, P.Boonseng, R.The use of non-linear power loads causes power system distortion or harmonic problems. When that problem occurs, it must be resolved in time. Therefore, this document presents an online power quality measurement system that can quickly notify events and information. Fast data acquisition results in the quick analysis as well. Finally, the electrical system will be solved by installing a hybrid filter that is suitable for that problem. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, UPS System Design with Appropriate PPFs to Prevent Harmonic Resonance and Power Quality Improvements for MRI Scan Equipment(2020-11-24) ;Boonseng, C. ;Ratanasrimetha, T. ;Boonseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has become an essential diagnostic tool as it is a noninvasive method for diagnosing individuals of almost all ages. Using magnetic fields, MRI can produce images of the spine, brain, and other parts of the human body. This can eliminate the surgical difficulty to diagnose. In most MRI operations, it is used in conjunction with UPS to enable continuous operation and prevent power outages and system failures. In most MRI operations, it is used in conjunction with UPS to enable continuous operation and prevent power outages and system failures. MRI work at full output will generate a lot of harmonics and cause resonance at the output of the UPS to overheat and cause the UPS to reach trip. Solving this problem by using passive power filter system (PPFs) which is effective can solve this problem. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparison of Harmonic Solutions to Power Quality improvement for Grid-Connected Solar Rooftop Applications in Industrial Plants(2020-07-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Kularbphettong, K.Boonseng, R.The solar rooftop installation is currently grown in Thailand, when many solar inverters are connected to the grid. It impacts existing electrical systems such as the harmonic resonance occur and malfunction of sensitive equipment. In addition, electrical circuit breakers, contactors, fuses, and power capacitors are damaged, which can affect electrical quality in the system. The impact of solar rooftop installation on the reliability and security of existing power grids must be urgently analyzed. This paper examines and selects methods to reduce the harmonic effects caused by the increase in solar inverter installation in existing power systems. The main objective of the study is to reduce distortion and harmonic resonance problems in the system, as well as to select suitable methods for solving problems. Practically, it is ensured that the passive power filter system (PPFs), active power filter system (APFs) and hybrid power filter system (HPFs) are the best solution applied for grid-connected system. A method for selecting a suitable solution for solving problems in each plant was proposed. A comparison of the solutions to all three methods has been analyzed for maximum benefit. Guidelines, procedures, and operational requirements can be applied in industrial plants. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Field Experience for Passive Power Filter for Grid-Connected Solar Rooftop Applications at Industrial Plants(2019-10-01) ;Inwanna, W. ;Boonseng, C. ;Boonseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.This paper presents the solution of harmonic problem that caused by solar rooftop installation. The Passive Power Filter System (PPFs) is recommended for solving harmonic problem which produced from non-linear loads such as AC drive, SMPS and solar inverter. The PPFs is designed to eliminate the harmonic in the electrical system, result in the voltage and current distortion are reduced and avoid resonance problem. Moreover, it helps to compensate the reactive power and improve the power factor. The characteristic of PPFs is analyzed based on the simple calculation by the KMITL program. In practical, the PPFs is suitable for low voltage system which connected to the grid. There is high performance in solving harmonic problems in the electrical system. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Field Experience Hybrid Power Filter for Power Quality Improvement in Industrial Plants(2019-10-01) ;Inwanna, W. ;Boonseng, C. ;Boonseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.This paper presents a simple of harmonic filters design to minimize harmonic distortion caused by a harmonic source such as power electronic device. To avoid problem caused by the harmonics producing power electronic devices, the Hybrid Power Filters System (HPFs) are presented. The analysis includes the basic principles of harmonic filter. Passive Power Filter (PPF) can be designed by the KMITL Program. Surplus harmonic can be removed by active power filter(APF). The major objectives in the study are to improve the power factor, to reduced current and voltage distortion and to reduce resonance problems at a system. The results show that the HFs are a very appropriate solution for most typical harmonic problems and power factor correction for improvement in industrial plants. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Data Measurements of Harmonic and Subra-Harmonics Emission by AC Drive for Dry Milling Systems(2019-08-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boonseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.The ac drives which operate at a poor power factor decreases motor speed and injected large harmonic current and subra-harmonics into the supply network. The effects of harmonic and subra-harmonic that are injected into the network include overheating of transformers and motor and other instrumentation that were not designed with an insensitivity to harmonic in the supply. Thus, some form of harmonic and subra-harmonic mitigation is required. The PQube3 compact instrument is simply the best power monitor and real-time sensor and it records harmonic and supra-harmonics of AC drive for dry-milling system. To reduce the harmonic current and subra-harmonic injected in the network. The Hybrid Power Filter System(HPFs) are chosen because they can solve this problem with the least cost and the same effect as active filter. The results show that the association of HPFs is a very good solution for harmonic and subra-harmonic problems. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The 3rd Harmonic current and Power Quality Improvements of Data Centers Using Hybrid Power Filters(2019-08-01) ;Boonseng, C. ;Boonseng, R.Kularbphettong, K.This paper proposes a reduced 3rd harmonic current of server power supply units which effects of heating neutral cables and transformer. The data centers require the operation of many parallel-connected switch mode power supply on the same bus and transformer. Such a system significantly increases the high neutral current and power quality problems on the distribution network. Finally, using the Hybrid Power Filter System(HPFs) to solve this problem, the results can reduce distortion in current. The HPF is the combination of Active Power Filter (APF) and Passive Power Filter (PPF) which mostly use for reducing 3rd, 5th currents and power quality improvements of the system. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
