Item type:Publication, Model of factors influencing waste management in Phuket(2015-01-01) ;Sivakunakorn, Chiewcharn ;Buatama, UrasaFongsuwan, WannoThe objective of this research was to study the factors that directly and indirectly influence waste management in Phuket province. Data from questionnaires distributed to 400 households were analyzed applying the Structural Equation Model (SEM) by using Partial Least Square (PLS). Research findings show that the influence of waste disposal behavior, people's participation and technology utilization are statistically significant at 0.01. Thus, it can be concluded that more attention needs to be paid to people's participation, waste disposal behavior and technology utilization by both the local government and the people of Phuket to establish a sustainable waste management system. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Structural equation modeling of determinants on management effectiveness of Thai private vocational college education(2015-01-01) ;Phusalux, Jongdee ;Buatama, UrasaFongsuwan, WannoEducation is the key to progress and it follows that education is a principal contributor to the development of human resources for national economic and social improvement. In Thailand, private vocational schools have become a focal point in economic development strategies and with the economic union of the 10 southeast nations in 2015; education has been identified as a key regional strategy for economic growth. With global higher education enrolment increasing from 32.6 million in 1970 to 182.2 million students in 2011, 46% of which was in the East and South Asia region in 2011, Thailand has taken a central role in these discussions. Vocational education in Thailand is particularly important for the high percentage of contribution from the private sectors which accounts for almost 37% of the total educational system. This study therefore, analyzed the factors affecting administrator management effectiveness of Thai private vocational colleges by studying the learning environment, management innovation techniques and management strategies as well as their 18 related factors. A multi-stage random sampling was used to collect the sample from 614 Thai college administrators. The questionnaire was employed as the instrument for data collecting and PLS Graph was used for model verification. Results illustrated from the structural equation modeling that confirmatory factors of management innovation, management strategy and learning environment had a direct and positive effect on administrator management effectiveness. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Determinants of modern management of private vocational colleges: A structural equation model(2015-01-01) ;Phusalux, Jongdee ;Buatama, UrasaFongsuwan, WannoThe study was focused on finding ways to manage Thailand's private vocational colleges so that they might both survive and thrive under a highly competitive environment. Currently, vocational education in Thailand is a highly competitive business enterprise with competition coming from government schools, international schools and other private sector schools which accounts for almost 37% of t he total educational system. The researchers therefore undertook the development and validation of t he effective management construct using confirmatory factor analysis of strategic management and innovation management on Thai private vocational colleges. A multi-stage random sampling was used to collect the sample from 614 Thai college administrators. The questionnaire was employed as the instrument for data collecting and PLS Graph was used for model verification. Results illustrated from the Structural Equation Modeling that confirmatory factors of innovation management and strategic management had both a direct and indirect effect on administrator effective management. Trained industrial staffs are now in short supply and this will only be exacerbated with the upcoming 2015 integration of 10 Southeast Asia nations. It is therefore, paramount that vocational institutions, both private and public, develop strategic vision, implement technological innovation such as 'flipped classrooms' while simultaneously developing efficient and effective communication channels with industry and state agencies that better serves the nearly 1 million Thai vocational school students.2 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Efficiency of waste management in phuket province(2014-01-01) ;Sivakunakorn, Chiewcharn ;Buatama, UrasaFongsuwan, WannoThis research investigates the efficiency of waste management in Phuket. Qualitative research was conducted to the government agencies and quantitative research to a study group of 400 heads of households in Phuket. The research findings show that both the government and the people feel that there is still a low level of waste processing and waste transportation. The findings that were inconsistent between the public and private sectors include different ideas about waste disposal, technology utilization, people's participation in the decision making and evaluation. There are clear indicators that the government needs to establish better correlations with the people to create a more efficient waste management system. © Academic Journals Inc.
