The previous research compared the yaw measurement error between a rotary encoder and a couple of single beam laser (CSL) module, that those result emphasized only repeatability of yaw measurement error. In order to complete correspondingly with the metrological algorithm. This research presents the measurement uncertainty evaluation of yaw measurement error with the CSL module that based on the guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement. The measurement uncertainty of the CSL module calibration is 12.30 arcsec.

Recently, the yaw sensor would need to be developed their accuracies and repeatability. This research presents the design of a couple single beam laser (CSL) technique for residual error reduction of tape measuring development project. The result of comparison method of CSL and yaw module with laboratory's angular interferometer are satisfactory, and the deviation of measurement error is within and less than 0.1%.

Yaw error measurements using a new designed yaw sensor were carried out to determine the characteristics of yaw errors and analyze the behavior of the structural guide. Laser interferometers have generally been used in calibration laboratories for the angular measurement of measuring tape calibration systems, and their performance must be verified to determine whether it meets the laboratory specifications. The yaw sensor technique is identical to the error compensation used in a measuring tape calibration, and also has some special parameters. Although the yaw error observation period is very short, it is sufficiently accurate for a carriage yaw sensor. The results of a yaw error measurement comparison between a yaw sensor and the angular measurement system of a laser interferometer were satisfactory. The measurement uncertainty of a yaw sensor calibration was approximately U = 40 arcsec at a confidence level of 95%.

Yaw error measurements using a yaw sensor have been carried out to determine the characteristics of yaw errors and analyze the behaviors of the structural guide. The modification of yaw sensor design is necessary to improve the yaw error measurement. The contactless of a magnetic levitation technique that is supported a load of magnetic bearing. It is more suitable for reduction of yaw measurement error. This paper presents the new design of yaw sensor for the application that would be improved both the measurement error and repeatability. Those are measurement error and repeatability approximately minimized to 36 arcsec and less than 15 arcsec respectively, with the measurement uncertainty is 28.5 arcsec, at the confident level 95%.

A high resolution yaw sensor employed widely for observation the small angle measurements and angular applications. It needs to calibrate with high accuracy of standard for achievement of their performance and traceability. The measurement uncertainty evaluation of yaw sensor calibration is also necessary. This paper presents the technique of measurement uncertainty evaluation of yaw sensor following the guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM). The uncertainty evaluations were approximately minimized to 40 arcsec, the confident level approximately 95%.

Most recently, the measurement uncertainty evaluation employs entirely for evaluating the measurement process which is also use to investigate the residual error of length measuring system. This paper presents the measurement uncertainty of the reversal errors that would be compensated by using the error with the measurement uncertainty compensation module. The confident level of measurement uncertainty is approximately 95%. This evaluation result of the measuring system errors were approximately minimized to 8.0 μm.

Generally, there are many of the error evaluation methods which employed for the length measurement system. The reversal error is one of the important sources of the error. Normally, it is compensated by using the linear error compensation but some residual error is found for measurement uncertainty evaluation. This paper presents a method which is a new design of an automated line scale measuring machine (ALSM) error compensation module. It can be able to compensate the reversal error from the ALSM by reducing the reversal error approximately 10% more.
