    – In the typical Photovoltaic (PV) system, the Perturb and Observe (P&O) technique is the algorithm that is used for tracking the Maximum Power Point (MPP). It enables the photovoltaic (PV) panel to reach the maximum power output. However, there are two main existing problems which are the slow speed of the P&O, and an oscillation of power around MPP. The problems lead to a reduction of the power output of the PV panel. This paper presents a new hybrid methodology for a faster Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) application. The proposed method consists of the Lookup Table, together with the P&O techniques. The results show that the Lookup Table employs measured values of an irradiance, a temperature, and a Duty Cycle to achieve MPPT precisely. Consequently, the Lookup Table’s tracking speed is significantly faster than P&O and the oscillation of tracking power is eliminated. Moreover, the new hybrid methodology also uses P&O to record irradiance, temperature, and Duty Cycle data into the table. Once sufficient data are collected and under defined the conditions, the system automatically select to the Lookup Table for operation.

This research shows how Lookup Table technique can track MPP. This method uses calculation to find the exact value of duty cycle that make PV panel reach MPP. Therefore, its speed is faster than classical techniques especially P&O because knowing the exact value of duty cycle can make the controller control the switching device that makes PV reach MPP directly. Moreover, the swing at MPP is less P&O. However, the Lookup Table technique still be relied P&O to track MPP in the first period for automatically recording data into the Table for the Lookup Table technique. Hence, this method is going to be combined by both of P&O and Lookup Table. It is relied on the condition which technique is going to be operated. Lookup Table technique will be operated instead of P&O when the recorded data are enough and under defined the conditions that will be explain in this paper.

This paper shows the new technique of tracking Maximum Power Point (MPP) that is faster than P&O one. Furthermore, it can reduce the swing of MPP but P&O technique never deal with. This technique uses automatically selective technique between P&O and Lookup Table to reach MPP. At first, the controller selects P&O technique to track MPP and record the data on relationship between temperature and duty cycle into the Table. When the data in the Table are more enough and the recent temperature value is under defined condition, the controller will change P&O to Lookup Table technique automatically. However, the recorded data in the Table will be reset every day for tracking MPP accurately.

This paper shows the circuit and methodology of the new charger for tracking MPP on any level of irradiation by using Matlab Simulink Program. The circuit is the Interleaved Buck-Boost that is used to reduce output of ripple voltage and ripple current. The methodology is used and combined between P&O MPPT and Lookup Table MPPT. However, the P&O MPPT is the basic system to control the tracking of MPPT and record the values of both irradiation intensity and duty cycle in the Table. When the real value of irradiation intensity is under defined condition, the system operation will turn P&O MPPT to Lookup Table MPPT automatically. Therefore, the system operates MPPT quickly and solves the problem of the variation value of MPPT.
