Item type:Publication, Electromagnetic interference in photovoltaic system and mitigation of conducted noise at DC side(2017-02-08) ;Jiraprasertwong, JukkritJettanasen, ChaiyanThis paper focuses on the electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated in a photovoltaic system. Noise caused by inverter has spread to the disturbance both conducted and radiated emissions. In addition, the EMI can be transferred from one mode to another mode; this means that conducted EMI can be transferred to radiated EMI and vice versa. Several emission patterns in such a system will be described to reveal the possible propagation paths of the EMI. To suppress the high-frequency disturbance, a passive EMI filter is added at the DC side of the solar inverter. The overall system is tested in various configurations: mainly with and without EMI filter, and with and without electrical load connected. Finally, the EMI testing results are compared with EMI standard to confirm the effectiveness and benefits of inserting a passive EMI filter in the studied photovoltaic system. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis and mitigation of conducted electromagnetic interference in a photovoltaic single-phase inverter(2015-01-26) ;Jiraprasertwong, JukkritJettanasen, ChaiyanThis paper focuses on analysis and mitigation of conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) in a single-phase inverter connected to photovoltaic panel. A photovoltaic inverter composed in the considered system is a main part to generate EMI. Many causes of conducted noise emission will be revealed and discussed in the paper. To overcome EMI problems, there are several methods; some mitigation approaches will be herein mentioned, such as grounding, filtering, and reducing parasitic element. In order to effectively reduce EMI in the studied system, passive EMI filter is focused. Simulation and experimental results for two configurations: without EMI filter and with EMI filter are shown and compared with an EMC standard, which is herein EN 55022 class B to reveal the effectiveness of EMI filter and confirm the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of the system.
