This paper presents the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to improve the system operation during shading in photo voltaic array. This technique was based on the swarm optimization algorithm using average model. The algorithm has the simple topology and accuracy calculation. The PV system composed of the PV array, the synchronous buck-boost converter which can control the output voltage with the same polarity of both source and load. The PV array operating simulation was done by the PowerSim program where the MATLAB program simulates the particle swarm optimization with average model in various partial shading. Finally, the experimental results using average model show a fast response with good agreement of that simulation.

This paper presents the comparison of Distributed Control and Centralized Control for partial shading in PV parallel based on the Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm. The distributed control is the connection of PV 1 panel with 1 MPPT and the centralized control is the connection of many PV panels with 1 MPPT. Both methods have difference advantage, efficiency, cost and maintenance. The simulation of both methods made in Powersim and Matlab Simulink. The analysis and conclusion were included.

This paper presents the performance comparison of synchronous single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) and synchronous ZETA focusing on the converter efficiency and the output waveform quality. The conventional SEPIC and ZETA converters operated in Buck and Boost modes were modified to the synchronous SEPIC and synchronous ZETA converters to improve the converter efficiency. The operating conditions were setup where the duty cycle was operated from 0.3 to 0.7 for covering buck-boost modes at the continuous current mode. Two switching frequencies at 20 kHz and 40 kHz were operated to compare the effect of switching loss and conduction loss where the efficiency was concerned. Finally, the converter efficiency and the ripple factor of the output voltage were concluded.

This paper presents the analysis of harmonic effect caused by driving system of the brushless DC (BLDC) motor. The constant ratio of voltage per frequency can result various voltage and current harmonics depended on the modulation index or duty cycle. The losses of the BLDC motor result the rising temperature. The LC filter was designed to meet the BLDC motor on total harmonic distortion reduction. The BLDC motor operates with 40 kHz switching frequency, the experimental of 10 kW BLDC motor was investigated to find out how harmonic and THD can affect the motor loss. Three liter of water was circled as water cooling on the motor. The experimental showed that the operation at higher voltage introduces lower THD, also lower loss, where the LC filter results lower motor temperature compared to without LC filter.
