Item type:Publication, Train Collision Avoidance System by X-Band FMCW Radar and Long Range Camera Image Processing(2024-01-01) ;Pongthavornkamol, Tiwat ;Klangnurak, Thanirat ;Manasummakij, Prateep ;Wisadsud, SodsaiManatrainon, SupatraSensor fusion between X-Band radar and long-range Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera for train collision avoidance system is proposed. The method of Constant False Alarm Rate (CF AR) is applied for the radar signal processing to improve the correct result of radar detection. The edge detection and object detection by digital image processing are applied to long range camera system for classification of identity and position of the object. Experiments of obstacle detection by radar and camera are performed. The proposed work will benefit the safety improvement of locomotive transportation application in which its details are presented and discussed in this paper. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Single-fed broadband circularly polarized unidirectional antenna using folded plate with parasitic patch for universal UHF RFID readers(2016-09-01) ;Dentri, Sitthichai ;Phongcharoenpanich, ChuwongKaemarungsi, KamolThis research proposes a simple economical broadband circularly polarized antenna for universal ultra-high frequency (UHF) RF identification (RFID) readers. The antenna utilizes a folded plate, a two-corner truncated parasitic patch, and a ground plane. The folded plate, which is fabricated from one single plate, consists of a two-corner truncated main patch, a wall patch, and a feed line, where the main patch is perpendicular to the wall patch, which is in turn perpendicular to the feed line. The folded plate enables currents to flow with a phase difference. The simulation results achieved an |S<inf>11</inf>| < −15 dB of 805–966 MHz (18% bandwidth), a 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 834–962 MHz (14% AR bandwidth), and a gain higher than 8.6 dBic. The measured results obtained an |S<inf>11</inf>| < −15 dB of 806–970 MHz (18%), a 3-dB AR bandwidth of 816–963 MHz (16%), and a gain greater than 7.8 dBic. The proposed antenna is applicable for universal UHF RFID readers as it covers the entire operating UHF RFID frequency range of 840–960 MHz. The parametric study and evolution of the proposed antenna are detailed in this research paper as well. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Item type:Publication, Implementation of a human vital monitoring system using ad hoc wireless network for smart healthcare(2011-12-01) ;Insom, Poramin ;Wongpanitlert, Pakorn ;Tipsupa, Jakree ;Rakjang, KritsakornKaemarungsi, KamolA human vital monitoring system using Ad Hoc wireless network is implemented to enhance the healthcare service. Issues related to hardware and software implementation including the data packet format are addressed. The system uses a low cost electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor to monitor patient's vital sign. A sensor node, which is held by the patient, transmits the sensor data via an Ad Hoc wireless network to a gateway. The received data is processed and displayed in a form of graph on a monitoring screen. The system allows medical personal to check the status of patient remotely. Too the system is designed such that, if it detects anomaly signs from the patient, the sensor node can report an alarm to the monitoring screeen so that medical personal can assist the patient immediately. The system is developed using a real-time operating system and deployed an Ad Hoc routing protocol to reroute the packet to the gateway automatically. © 2011 IEEE.
