Item type:Publication, Proposed Model of STEM Associated with Social Issues: Case Study on Tapioca Drip Irrigation System(2021-01-01) ;Roekrai, Nidchabendha ChandanachulakaKhan-Ngern, WerachetThe model of STEM associated with social issues is presented. Many projects are implemented with science, technology, mathematics, and engineering (STEM) but exclude the impact of long-term sustainability in both social and economic topics. The proposed model of STEM, which includes social matters, should be applied to be S+STEM. A case study of PV water pumps in the tapioca drip irrigation system has been provided to ensure the success of S+STEM. Although the design of irrigation systems requires STEM principles, it should be considered on issues related to society and communities, particularly about the cost and pollution that occur, which is a matter that the community values. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Energy, Economic, and Environmental (3E) Analysis of PV Water Pump: Case Study of the Tapioca Drip Irrigation System(2021-01-01) ;Roekrai, Nidchabendha ChandanachulakaKhan-Ngern, WerachetThis paper presents energy, economic, and environmental analysis of the PV Water Pump. A case study of the tapioca drip irrigation system in Kamphaeng Phet Province in Thailand is provided. The conditions of this tapiocafield are 1) no electricity and 2) thefield owners are not willing to pay for the electricity cost; therefore, it is crucial to decide whether PV connected with α centrifugal pump is suitable for tapioca drip irrigation system. Each parameter in this 3E analysis has been evaluated to preset the most suitable PV pumping system.
