Item type:Publication, Partial Discharge Localization Model in Power Transformer with Fingerprinting Technique(2023-01-01) ;Chaisang, Aditep ;Tiengthong, Thanadol ;Maw, Myo MyintPromwong, SathapornPartial discharge localization in power transformers is of utmost importance, requiring an effective evaluation method to identify the location of such events precisely. Antenna placement poses challenges within power transformers, as improper positioning can significantly affect localization precision. This paper introduces an evaluation of the fingerprinting method for ultra-high frequency partial discharge localization. The fingerprinting method, commonly employed in wireless localization systems, is utilized to assess the accuracy of partial discharge localization. The proposed method leverages fingerprinting analysis and received signal strength to evaluate partial discharge events in power transformers. Experimental partial discharge measurements are conducted on a power transformer model provided by Tesla Power Company. The results include the average received signal strength at each measurement position and the distance error of the partial discharge location determined using the fingerprinting method. This research contributes to assessing partial discharge in power transformers, offering valuable insights for enhancing their health and performance evaluation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Which compliance with communication systems that require the speed of transmitting large amounts of data. Therefore, this project has designed and fabrication a biconical antenna. Furthermore, perform the antenna's performance test for an indoor impulse radio localization in the frequency range of 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz with a vector network analyzer. The results of the measurements were analyzed and evaluated in comparison with the distance error with matched filter and time-gating techniques. The results obtained from the study of this project are based on theory and very useful for basic information in the research and development of short-range wireless communication systems and positioning by impulse radio transmission. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparison of path loss prediction models for UAV and IoT air-to-ground communication system in rural precision farming environment(2021-02-01) ;Duangsuwan, SarunMaw, Myo MyintThe comparison of path loss model for the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and Internet of Things (IoT) air-to-ground communication system was proposed for rural precision farming. Due to the uncertainty of propagation channel in rural precision farming environment, the comparison of path loss prediction was investigated by the conventional particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms: PSO (exponential or Exp), PSO (polynomial or Poly) and the machine learning algorithms: k-nearest neighbor (k-NN), and random forest, are exploited to accurate the path loss models on the basic of the measured dataset. Meanwhile, the empirical model in the rural precision farming was considered. By using the machine learning-based algorithms, the coefficient of determination (R-squared: R2) and root mean squared error (RMSE) were evaluated as highly accuracy and precision more than the conventional PSO algorithms. According to the results, the random forest method was able to perform more than other methods. It has the smallest prediction errors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Empirical Path Loss Channel Characterization Based on Air-to-Air Ground Reflection Channel Modeling for UAV-Enabled Wireless Communications(2021-01-01) ;Supramongkonset, Jatuporn ;Duangsuwan, Sarun ;Maw, Myo MyintPromwong, SathapornThe purpose of this work was to investigate the air-to-air channel model (A2A-CM) for unmanned aerial vehicle- (UAV-) enabled wireless communications. Specifically, a low-altitude small UAV needs to characterize the propagation mechanisms from ground reflection. In this paper, the empirical path loss channel characterizations of A2A ground reflection CM based on different scenarios were presented by comparing the wireless communication modules for UAVs. Two types of wireless communication modules both WiFi 2.4 GHz and LoRa 868 MHz frequency were deployed to study the path loss channel characterization between Tx-UAV and Rx-UAV. To investigate the path loss, three types of experimental channel models, such as CM1 grass floor, CM2 soil floor, and CM3 rubber floor, were considered under the ground reflection condition. The analytical A2A Two-Ray (A2AT-R) model and the modified Log-Distance model were simulated to compare the correlation with the measurement data. The measurement results in the CM3 rubber floor scenario showed the impact from the ground reflection at 1 m to 3 m Rx-UAV altitudes both 2.4 GHz and 868 MHz which was converged to the A2AT-R model and related to the modified Log-Distance model above 3 m. It clear that there is no ground reflection effect from the CM1 grass floor and CM2 soil floor. This work showed that the analytical A2AT-R model and the modified Log-Distance model can deploy to model the path loss of A2A-CM by using WiFi and LoRa wireless modules. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Development of soil moisture monitoring by using IoT and UAV-SC for smart farming application(2020-07-01) ;Duangsuwan, Sarun ;Teekapakvisit, ChakreeMaw, Myo MyintSoil moisture is a fundamental factor for smart farming that is used to control the water management system. In this paper, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) small cell (UAV-SC) can provide Internet of things (IoT) as the hotspot mobility network, due to the minimum limitation energy of connected IoT. The development of ground sensor (GS) communicates to the UAV-SC called GS-UAV-SC model for soil moisture monitoring is proposed to smart farming. UAV-SC aims to fulfill the data collection task with a limitation of GSs power. In the experiment, the two case scenarios: Napier grass farm and Ruzi grass farm are implemented. The result of soil moisture status is demonstrated as an example of data in real time on a mobile application monitoring system. The proposed system is useful for users/farmers to know the soil moisture data quickly for smart farming applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Indoor measurement of UWB-IR propagation channel using time-gating techniques(2014-01-01) ;Chiochan, Poramate ;Maw, Myo Myint ;Duangsuwan, SarunPromwong, SathapornIn this paper investigates a multipath reduction in an IEEE 802.15.4a of the ultra wideband-impulse radio (UWB-IR) propagation channel, which is the spatial-temporal resolution of scattering objects. The existing are widely observed by time dispersion of pulse-shaped transmit signals and their distortion in complex environments. We presented a new approach on UWB-IR complex channel transfer function in an indoor measurement. The time-gating measurement method (TGMM) is approached to suppress the scatter effect of multipath rays tracing, which occurred in the indoor environment. The close-form extension of radar cross section (RCS) results for sample furniture with the vertical and horizontal polarization as depends on antenna under-test (DUT) are shown. The TGMM is very useful to serve for impact of antenna distortion in an impulse radio system by using measurement technique. © 2014 IEEE.
