Item type:Publication, An Infant Cry Recognition based on Convolutional Neural Network Method(2019-11-01) ;Teeravajanadet, K. ;Siwilai, N. ;Thanaselanggul, K. ;Ponsiricharoenphan, N.Tungjitkusolmun, S.In this paper, an investigation of crying signal spectra is used to classify categories of infant cries. Three different types of crying considered in this work are hungry, sleepy and burping need. These cries are preprocessed and converted for calculation of Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) before being classified by Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Experimental results show that CNN based deep learning achieves high performance of 84%. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An investigation on a trachea air flow pattern in an intubated patient: Airway edema case(2017-12-19) ;Sanpanich, A. ;Masomtob, M. ;Phasukkit, P. ;Kajornpredanon, Y.Daochai, S.In a respiratory failure patient, an artificial ventilation is commonly performed by using a mechanical ventilator particularly in an ICU ward. On such a case, an endotracheal tube (ETT) must be inserted into patient's airway and following by a balloon cuff blowing in order to fix and act as a sealed artificial airway for an artificial ventilation. However, those implementations adversely affect to tracheal tissue-epithelial layer and probably damaging a larynx and vocal cord zone. After a ventilator weaning and an extubating process, some patients always suffering with a larynx or tracheal edema symptom or postextubation stridor (PES) in which patient airway is narrowed or swelling due to a long term pressurization by the ETT balloon cuff. This mainly causes a difficulty in a spontaneous breathing. In general, a cuff leak test is a common medical maneuver used in order to predict a larynx or tracheal edema possibility after ETT was removed. Air volume different between an inspired volume (Vtì) and an expired volume (Vie) normally should be higher than 100 mL or 10%. In this paper, we propose an investigation of an airflow pattern on an intubated patient in the cuff leak test process in order to understand and support a prediction of the tracheal edema before perform an ETT extubation. The study was performed in an intubated trachea by using a simulation of an airflow pattern, air volume prediction in a normal intubated case and during cuff leak test process with no edema and edema case. Although, this simulation was intently implemented in a simple intubated trachea model, however the obtain results imply us a practical information and will be used as a basic implementation for a further study, especially in case of variety in the ETT intubation or cuff less ventilation even more complication case in the near future. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Airflow effect on microwave ablation in lung model(2016-02-04) ;Phairoh, C. ;Sanpanich, A. ;Kajornpredanon, Y. ;Petsarb, K.Sroykham, W.Pulmonary microwave ablation has been trailed and became dramatically recognized as an alternative surgical method for lung cancer treatment due to its minimal invasive technique and destroyable only a small part of malignant tissue. Even though, lung is realized as a porous tissue in which filled of humid air and a capillary network that rather difficult to control an ablation region, then a prediction of lung destructive region by using MWA simulation seem to be a reliable investigation and numerical tool for supporting this medical maneuver. In this paper, we propose a simulation of microwave thermal ablation for lung cancer treatment in a simple lung model. Microwave applicator was designed as an opened-tip coaxial antenna of 2.45 GHz at 10 Watts. To study an effect of air flow in pulmonary bronchus, a small tube with air flow was also placed close to the microwave applicator then a temperature distribution and coagulation volume at 60 °c were analyzed. The in silico results show a predictable ablation shape which affected by a convection heat transfer of a humid air. However, before a real ablation with swine tissue, an amount of pulmonary blood flow in small blood vessel should be also included in the next investigation inorder to obtain more reasonable results. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Hand postures for evaluating trigger finger using leap motion controller(2016-02-04) ;Chophuk, P. ;Chumpen, S. ;Tungjitkusolmun, S.Phasukkit, P.The purpose of this research reported here is to evaluate an abnormal finger motion of trigger finger using Leap Motion Controller to measure finger joint angles by the dot product equation. This sensor is 3D non-contact motion sensor which can detect finger bones. It is estimated positions and directions for fingers and bones. Four postures are used to evaluate an abnormal finger motion that has been used by physical therapist: 1) a flexion of thumb IP joint, 2) neutral position of finger PIP joint, 3) flexion of finger MP Joint, 4) thumb radial abduction. A finger goniometer is used as a reference method to measure the bent fingers' angle. The results showed that an average degree different value of a finger's angle measured by the finger goniometer and this system was 5.73 degrees. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Thermal ablation for cancer treatment by using microwave energy in a simple lung model(2014-01-20) ;Sanpanich, A. ;Khongkhanon, C. ;Kajornpredanon, Y. ;Thanangkul, S.Apaiwong, C.Lung cancer or pulmonary cancer is one of a dangerous cancer threatening human life since a long time ago. Even though, a conventional surgery is widely accepted as a gold standard for this cancer treatment, however a new medical maneuver still be investigated to perform with this disease. In this paper, we trail a simulation of thermal ablation by using microwave energy at 2.45GHz, 30 Watts for 10 seconds with an opened-ring coaxial applicator in a simple lung tissue model. An air tracheal also placed in this model in order to compare for a thermal distribution. Although, this model is quite differing from a porous material, but our simulation results of temperature distribution and destructive area at 60 □C guide us some useful information for a real ex vivo with swine tissue in the near future work. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A design of encapsulated - Balloon type antenna for microwave therapeutic system by using finite element method(2014-01-20) ;Phasukkit, P. ;Tungjitkusolmun, S. ;Jundang, S.Sanpanich, A.This research proposes a design of a novel microwave applicator which encapsulated in fluid reservoir for a thermal therapy. Heat generated from microwave energy is applied to cure or to reshape a hollow-tubing shape organ or misshape organ from occlusion or narrowing such as tracheal and benign prostatic hyperplasia. This promising technique provides a shorter treatment time and minimal invasive maneuver. We apply a coaxial microwave antenna which inserted into a small balloon reservoir filling with normal saline. The antenna is designed by using a finite element method (FEM). The characteristic of this proposed applicator is able to transfer effectively a heating from antenna to saline fluid in a silicone balloon. Our dominant advantage is the living tissue will not be severely burned due to directly contact with microwave antenna. Microwave energy of 2.45 GHz frequency in this simulation is trialed at 30 Watts while a total treatment time is 10 minutes by a pulsation control waveform as 1:10 ratio. A temperature distribution in our balloon is constant spreadly and steadily at 60-70 degree of Celsius during all treatment process which is a prominent point significantly of using a heating from balloon instead of a conventional antenna. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Bone drilling by using microwave ablation; FEM investigation(2013-12-01) ;Phairoh, C. ;Sanpanich, A. ;Kajornpredanon, Y. ;Thanangkul, S.Apaiwong, C.Bone drilling by using heat energy from microwave is a promising research issue and has been proposed by some researcher. However, there are still some interesting topics remaining to be investigated especially in term of a temperature variation during burning or drilling process and a prediction of an extreme burning size or drilling diameter. In this paper, we propose an FEM investigation of bone drilling by using microwave thermal ablation emphasizing on a temperature distribution pattern and temperature variation at a hot spot of a cutting-end antenna. Bone phantom was modeled as two solid layers as cortical and bone marrow part. Simulation was implemented in three different applicator positions in bone model as a top surface, middle and near marrow. The obtained simulation results give us useful information to design more suitable and practicable applicator for heat pattern focusing in a compact bone tissue and also encourage us to validate with a bovine bone in near future. © 2013 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and simulation of air flow inside double wall infant incubator by using 3D FEM; Case study for multi inflow and outflow slot(2013-12-01) ;Wongkamhang, A. ;Phasukkit, P. ;Pintuviroj, C. ;Prasantamrongsiri, S.Sanpanich, A.This paper presents a concept of the design and development of an infant incubator by increasing a number of an air flow slot for air-inlet and air-outlet inside a double wall infant incubator. The number of airflow inlet slot is increase to 2 while an airflow outlet slot is to 4 at the lateral side. The study is done by using FEM simulation to compare between single air flow slot and multi air flow slot. The simulation results show that air temperature in multi-slot provides more distribution that the single wall obviously and no air layer exist in the air hood. In term of rising temperature, 4 temperature monitoring points was located around an infant area then be averaged during simulation process, multi-slot show a shorter time than single-slot to reach a setting temperature at 35 C. These simulations provides a useful basic information to prepare a real validation in the near future. © 2013 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Airflow analysis of radiofrequency ablation for asthma therapy by using 3D finite element method(2013-12-01) ;Ruxsapong, P. ;Phasukkit, P. ;Tungjitkusolmun, S. ;Prasantamrongsiri, S.Sanpanich, A.The research aimed to present airflow analysis of radiofrequency ablation for asthma therapy by using three-dimensional finite element method. We study a solution for asthma therapy by using radiofrequency ablation method. Airflow is main factor for asthma therapy. Asthma patients have shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing, and chest tightness that influence a daily life of patients. All symptoms cause to die, especially in severe symptom patients. Asthma therapy by using radiofrequency ablation is a new alternative maneuver to the patient and hopefully may extend his lifetime, reduce using of medicines in asthma treatment and also save money on medical care. The simulation results obtained from our three-dimensional finite element method show airflow that will directly affect the temperature distribution by using radiofrequency ablation technique. These simulation results also guide us to develop an advance asthma treatment in the future. © 2013 IEEE.
