in this paper, the magnetic field distribution of two-slot array antenna on a concentric sectoral cylindrical resonator excited by a coupling slot is presented. The correlations between the field distributions of the antenna and the mode-based field distributions are presented. The radiation pattern, magnetic field distribution and magnitude of S11 are investigated in the terms of the length of the sectoral resonator. It shows that the TE112 mode has degenerated to the magnitude of S11 for the circumferential slot array antenna. The results provide useful information for the design of switched-beam array antenna on the concentric sectoral cylindrical resonators. ©2008 IEEE.

This paper presents the radiation characteristics of two-slot array antenna on a concentric sectoral cylindrical resonator excited by a coupling slot. The magnetic fields inside the sectoral cylindrical resonator for the first few modes are presented with sectoral angle of 60 degrees. It shows that the appropriate mode for a slot array antenna on a concentric sectoral cylindrical resonator is the TM<inf>110</inf> mode. The radiation patterns of two-slot array antenna on a concentric sectoral cylindrical resonator for single sector are illustrated. The location of the coupling slot is considered to find the appropriate radiation pattern. The results provide useful information for the design of switched-beam array antenna on the concentric sectoral cylindrical resonators.

This paper presents the electromagnetic-field analysis of a probe inside rectangular aperture inclined on open-ended cavity. The field characteristics of the rectangular aperture primarily depend on the mode distribution of the electromagnetic field inside the structure. In the design, the aperture cross section should be selected to let only specified mode can be propagated. However, when the probe is contained inside the cavity, the discontinuity inside the cavity is occurred that makes the field distribution to be disturbed. Therefore, the mode distribution becomes complex in the vicinity of the probe. The mode distribution is necessary in order to accomplish the accurate results to find the radiation characteristics. The criteria for the mode distributions are first specified to yield efficient field solution. Subsequently, the finite number of the mode summation is determined to achieve the convergent condition. Furthermore, the radiation characteristics are obtained by using the dyadic Green function. The results from this work are significant to further design of this structure in the microwave and millimeter wave devices.

This paper presents the electromagnetic-field coupling between a probe and rectangular aperture mounted on open-ended cavity. The field characteristics of the rectangular aperture primarily depend on the mode distribution of the electromagnetic field inside the structure. The significant parameters that have strong influence to the mode distribution arc the size of the aperture cross section, the length of the cavity, the location and the length of the probe. The mode truncation for various distances from the probe is necessary in order to accomplish the accurate results to find the radiation characteristics. The criteria for the mode truncation arc first specified to yield efficient field solution. Subsequently, the finite number of the mode summation is determined to achieve the convergent condition. Furthermore, the radiation characteristics are obtained by using the dyadic Green function.
