Item type:Publication, Efficiency and Sustainability of Bangkok Port Barge Transport: A Comparative Analysis with Feeder Vessels Under Thailand's Logistics Strategy(2025-06-01) ;Nakchatree, KanokpornPrabnasak, JaruwitThis study assessed the effectiveness and sustainability of using barge versus feeder vessels to transport containerized cargo to Bangkok Port, Thailand. A survey of 387 stakeholders in marine logistics was conducted from October to December 2024. Multiple regression analysis (MRA) showed that cost-effectiveness, environmental impact, and operational flexibility primarily influenced transport mode choice, explaining 56.2% of the variance. Cost-effectiveness emerged as the key factor, while environmental impact was the strongest predictor of perceived sustainability. While operators favored feeders due to cost and time efficiency, barges scored higher due to environmental friendliness and operational flexibility. Notably, 68% of respondents preferred barges for short routes under 100 km due to their role in reducing road congestion and pollution. Furthermore, 73% expected greater barge use over the next five years, driven by technology and environmental policies. Improved waterway infrastructure would lead 82% to use barges more frequently, and 76% believed better intermodal integration would enhance logistics efficiency. This study is limited to the context of Thailand’s domestic maritime logistics and stakeholder perceptions, which may not be fully generalizable to other ASEAN or global port systems. Future research should explore multi-country comparative studies and assess longitudinal trends as green port policies evolve across Southeast Asia. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Factors Affecting the Smart Port Implementation at Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port, Thailand(2023-07-27) ;Nakchatree, KanokpornPrabnasak, JaruwitThis study aims at developing and validating a model of causal factors potentially affecting long-term development of Laem Chabang Deep-Sea Port in Thailand. The data collected by a questionnaire survey has been analyzed by a measurement model of latent variables. Several key hypotheses have also been tested by the proposed model. According to the model analysis, it is found that the empirical data analysis is consistent with the theoretical measurement model. The prosperous development is positively influenced with statistical significance by four latent variables - as represented by the following statistics: CMIN/P = 0.068, CMIN/df = 1.282, GFI = 0.976, and RMSEA = 0.027. Additionally, results from the Second Confirmatory Factor Analysis (SCFA) shows that there are two factors considered as key success factors for smart port implementation at the port. It is found that all four factors are rated at high-level of importance with operation, environment, safety and security, and energy, respectively. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Determinants of Port Performance-Case Study of Five Major Container Ports in Myanmar(2019-10-25) ;Paing, Wai PhyoPrabnasak, JaruwitContainer ports are playing a pivotal role in facilitating global logistics and supply chains. Therefore, their performance and overall competitiveness must be improved in order to retain shipping lines and shippers. This study aims to analyze the relationship between container throughput (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) per year) and other important Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This analysis can help the Myanma Port Authority (MPA) and container port operators in the country to identify which KPIs are essential for monitoring and improving their performance. The Data used in this study was collected from five major Myanmar container ports under the authority of the MPA for the period 2010-2015. This study employed a quantitative analysis method by applying a regression modelling technique. As a result, it is concluded that container throughput is influenced only by some KPIs namely total berth length and the total numbers of ship calls per year. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, International Freight Transportation Problems under GMS-CBTA: Case Study of Thailand-Cambodia(2019-10-25) ;Uttamapurna, Pratan ;Prabnasak, JaruwitTiyarattanachai, RonnachaiThe governments of Thailand and Cambodia have enacted a policy under the GMS agreement to facilitate and increase trade and transport capacity. One of the key components is to improve land transport performance on the designated routes between Bangkok and Phnom Penh under the GMS-CBTA. However, the policy has not been considered effective as expected because licensed logistic companies still do not use that privilege. They also use the traditional method in which cargo is transhipped by local trucks at the borderline. In light of the problem, this study systematically investigated the root causes of the agreement ineffectiveness. Some recommendations for improving the performance of operation are given. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An evaluation of public truck terminal implementation and truck ban policy in a medium-size city of Thailand: A case study of Khon Kaen city(2018-08-14) ;Chhorn, Vuchlung ;Prabnasak, JaruwitChompoo-Inwai, ChowThis study aims at investigation the potential impacts of a public truck terminal implementation along with truck ban policy adaptation in Khon Kaen City, Thailand. A four-step model is developed and used for examining traffic condition changes due to the terminal relocation. Three different terminal locations are set. Truck traffic of each scenario are estimated and converted to total network cost, and then compared with the base-case scenario. The most suitable truck terminal location is suggested. Also, several concerns regarding the public truck terminal and truck ban policy in the study area are given. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A single, triple chaotic cryptography using chaos in digital filter and its own comparison to des and triple des(2018-05-30) ;Pich, Reatrey ;Chivapreecha, SorawatPrabnasak, JaruwitThe Data Encryption Standard (DES) of the multimedia cryptography possesses the weak point of key conducting that is why it reaches to the triple form of DES. However, the triple DES obtains the better characteristic to secure the protection of data to against the attacks, it still contains an extremely inappropriate performance (speed) and efficiency in doing so. This paper provides the effective performance and the results of a single and triple chaotic cryptography using chaos in digital filter, compare to DES and triple DES. This comparison has been made pair-to-pair of single structure respectively to the triple form. Finally the implementation aspects of a single chaotic cryptography using chaos in digital filter can stand efficiently as better performance speed with the small complexity algorithm, points out the resemblances to DES and triple DES with the similar security confirmation results without reaching to the triple form of the structure. Simulation has been conducted using Matlab simulation with the input of grayscale image. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A new key generator for data encryption using chaos in digital filter(2017-10-17) ;Pich, Reatrey ;Chivapreecha, SorawatPrabnasak, JaruwitThe presented work of this paper is to propose the implementation of chaotic crypto-system with the new key generator using chaos in digital filter for data encryption and decryption. The chaos in digital filter of the second order system is produced by the coefficients which are initialed in the key generator to produce other new coefficients. Private key system using the initial coefficients value condition and dynamic input as password of 16 characters is to generate the coefficients for crypto-system. In addition, we have tension specifically to propose the solution of data security in lightweight cryptography based on external and internal key in which conducts with the appropriate key sensitivity plus high performance. The chaos in digital filter has functioned as the main major in the system. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed data encryption with new key generator system is the high sensitive system with accuracy key test 99% and can make data more secure with high performance.
