Item type:Publication, A Study of Low Band UWB Localization with Wooden and Metal Bookshelves Based on Measurement Data(2024-01-01) ;Mankong, Thanadon ;Promwong, SathapornBunlaksananusorn, ChaninThis paper considers the potential of Impulse-Radio Ultra-Wideband (IR-UWB) technology which can be a barcodes replacement in bookshelf management systems. To assess its feasibility, we analyze IR-UWB propagation characteristics within bookshelf environments, particularly focusing on the impact of wooden and metal structures. A measurement-based evaluation scheme is employed, utilizing a vector network analyzer (VNA) alongside microstrip patch antennas for both the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) operating within a frequency range of 3.2GHz to 4.8GHz. The path loss, received signal strength (RSS), and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the measured data are then analyzed to evaluate the suitability of IR-UWB for bookshelf management applications. These findings will inform the design of IR-UWB antennas and the overall assessment of this technology in this specific context - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A novel analysis of IR-WPAN transmission using Friis' transmission formula(2017-11-03) ;Udomsom, Sittan ;Yooyativon, Thongchai ;Chaisricharoe, Roungsan ;Kamyod, ChayapolPromwong, SathapornImpulse radio (IR) transmission is consider used in wireless personal area network (WPAN) for high speed and low power transmission and new innovation wireless technology. This paper propose a novel analysis of impulse radio transmission in WPAN for ultra wireless communications. The waveform distortion due to the antennas should be considered. The optimum and isotropic template receivers are considered based on Friis transmission formula. In this experimental study, the biconical antennas are uesd as the transmitter (Tx) and the receiver (Rx) antennas. The rectangular passband, which is satisfied the full band of UWB-IR definition and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) indoor limit spectral masks, is used as the transmitted waveform of UWB system. The channels are measured in an anechoic chamber by using a vector network analyzer (VNA). The measured data are evaluated in path loss of optimal and isotropic template receivers, the IR transmission gains and BER are shown and compared in results.
