Item type:Publication, Development of Flame Retardant Stearic Acid Doped Graphite Powder and Magnesium Hydroxide Nanoparticles, Material for Thermal Energy Storage Applications(2022-02-04) ;Han, Kyaw Thet ;Lhosupasirirat, Siraprapa ;Srikhirin, Pongsid; Srikhirin, ToemsakNano-enhanced organic phase change material (PCM) composite consists of stearic acid (SA, act as the thermal storage media), graphite powder(GP, function as thermal conductor), and magnesium hydroxide nanoparticles(nMH), micro-sized (MMH), function as the flame retarder), were formulated and investigated for their thermophysical properties and flammability. The flame-retardant properties of nano-enhanced composite PCM were evaluated by using the burning test. Phase change temperature, phase change latent heat, and thermal conductivity were obtained by the T-history method. To reduce the flammability, 5wt% of MH with 0.8µm and 200nm were added to PCMs. 1wt% of GP improved thermal conductivity of stearic acid from 0.245 to 0.4887 W/mk, and doping of flame-retardant nanoparticles to PCM showed the reduction of flammability and slightly effecting on latent heat of PCM. nMH were found to work better for stearic acid flammability than MMH, where combustion time of 0.1g pure stearic acid(SA) was decreased from 41s to 17s and 23s. For nano-sized(SA/nMH) and micron-sized(SA/MMH)composites, the latent heat of pure PCM dropped from 171.26 to 124.85KJ/kg, but micron-sized addition negatively affects latent heat values by reducing from 171.26 to 88.87 KJ/kg. The results confirmed that nMH/GP/SA composite could reduce flammability without showing a negative impact on storage capacity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A multi-channel optical fibre-based smartphone spectrophotometer for measuring the spectra of LED colours(2021-07-01) ;Puttharugsa, Chokchai ;Srikhirin, Toemsak ;Pipatpanukul, ChinnawutThis paper demonstrates the use of a smartphone as a low-cost multi-channel optical fibre spectrophotometer suitable for physics laboratory classes. A custom-designed cradle and structure support were fabricated using 3D printing. The plastic optical fibres were arranged and inserted into the hole of the cradle to guide the light to the rear camera of the smartphone. Here, we describe the multi-channel optical fibre-based smartphone spectrophotometer for measuring the spectra of different LED colours.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Application of printable antibody ink for solid-phase immobilization of ABO antibody using photoactive hydrogel for surface plasmon resonance imaging(2020-10-01) ;Shrestha, Binit ;Pipatpanukul, Chinnawut; ;Brandstetter, ThomasRühe, JürgenBiochips for multiplex blood typing through surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) readout have been previously reported based on arrays of red blood cell (RBC) specific ABO antibodies (Abs). Although conventional surfaces, such as CM-dextran, are robust and highly specific, they are time and labor intensive to generate and functionalize. This work investigates the fabrication parameters and performance of printable ink consisting of a photoactive hydrogel precursor and antibody mixture for the fabrication of SPRi array biochip. The solid-phase immobilization of commercially available murine IgM ABO Abs on a SPR sensor chip with a multiplex detection of ABO antigens present on the surface membrane of human RBCs is reported. A quick and simple solid phase immobilization of protein on a SPR sensor chip was attained using the photocrosslinking polymer and microarray printing platform. A high density immobilized probes is obtained which allows high sensitivity, specificity, and surface regeneration. A signal to noise ratio of 22:1 and 25:1 at 5% and 10% immobilized-Ab respectively, is obtained with 5% RBC concentration. The sensor surface can be successfully regenerated for repeated use using DI water. Without loss of function, the Ab-printed chips could be stored up to 3 weeks at 4 °C.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study of anti-a antibody conjugated gold nanoparticles as a biomolecular detection probe for a substance in saliva(2020-01-01) ;Loedsapchinda, Naruenard ;Ta-Aithuak, Sarocha ;Chueaiarrom, Channarong ;Srikhirin, ToemsakIn this research studied on the conjugation of antibodies on gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and the optimization in term of antibody concentration and albumin blocking concentration. Gold nanoparticles with diameter size of ~20 nm were synthesized via chemical reduction of HAuCl4 with trisodium citrate as reducing and stabilizing agent. Gold nanoparticles and anti-A antibody at various concentrations were mixed and nonspecific binding sites were blocked by using bovine serum albumin (BSA) at various concentrations. The antibody conjugated gold nanoparticles were tested by coagulation with 1% sodium chloride salt solution to obtain the optimal antibody concentration. BSA 50, 100 and 200 μg/mL were added in solution after antibody covered on gold nanoparticles. The solutions were characterized by measuring absorbance spectra. From the results found that the optimal concentration of antibodies and BSA blocking were 45 μg/mL and 50 μg/mL, respectively. The anti-A conjugated gold nanoparticles were tested with saliva of blood group A sample to monitor the specific interaction between antibody on gold surface and antigen in saliva via the change of absorbance spectra.2 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Gold nanorod-optical fiber for sensing biomolecular interaction(2020-01-01) ;Chueaiarrom, Channarong ;Loedsapchinda, Naruenard ;Puttharugsa, Chokchai ;Pipatpanukul, ChinnawutSrikhirin, ToemsakThe optical fiber deposits with gold nanorods was successfully accomplished as a biosensor device which sensing to the refractive index change on the surrounding surface. The principle is based on the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) occurs on the metal surface of gold nanorods (AuNRs). The gold nanorods were coated on the glass core fiber surface through the covalent bond. The uncladded area fiber optic was incubated in 5% of (3-Mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) in ethanol for overnight to alter the thiol group on the surface. The gold nanorods with aspect ratio ⁓2.035 was deposited on thiol surface by incubation the optical fiber in gold nanorod solution for 6 hr. The sensor provides the sensitivity of 4.94×104 a.u./RIU. Moreover, antibody for blood grouping was immobilized on the AuNRs-optical fiber to detect the red blood cells. The AuNRs-optical fiber can detect A antigen on the immobilized anti-A surface with Δ%T of 0.98 and can detect B-antigen on the immobilized anti-B surface with Δ%T of 1.78. This work possesses possibility of a simple AuNRs-optical fiber to detect the biomolecular interaction.
