This paper investigates the efficiency of lubricant analysis by using electrical conductor theory that applied to check the performance of the lubricant, it will be indicate a life cycle of lubricant. The measurement process has led Electrochemical cell, Induction coil and Hall Effect sensor for electrochemical field analysis and compare it with electrical conductivity. In conductivity measurement experiment, we consider dynamic measurement velocity at 80 RPM with a lubricant Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 type by 5 different life cycle samples ratio, Used lubricant: Unused lubricant are 100% (4: 0), 75% (3:1), 50% (2:2), 25% (1:3) and 0% (0:4). The voltage output of Hall Effect sensor of 100% sample measurement at 100 degree Celsius is higher than the voltage output of 75%, 50%, 25% and 0% sample are 7.04%, 12.21%, 21.25% and 28.65%, respectively. The average percentage of Hall Effect sensor errors with the dynamic measurement method of the 5 lubricant samples was 2.87. Even though this measurement method had a high percentage of errors, but it has a cost advantage over the current measuring devices such as the Viscometer which is expensive cost.

This paper presents the classification of metals materials by application of Hall Effect sensor based on the eddy current method with non-destructive testing. The electromagnetic field was generated by winding an SWG 22 wire onto the ferrite core to create a solenoid. Two measurement systems are used. One uses a Pure DC supply as the excitation voltage of the electromagnetic field of the Hall Effect sensor system; while the other uses a combination of AC and DC supply, which is amplified through an integrated Class-A amplifier circuit, as the excitation voltage. Three different metal samples, namely, steel, aluminum and stainless steel were used as specimen. Current test conducted to determine the suitable current level revealed that a 0.8 A current is safe to allow tests to be conducted. Results show that the Combined DC system is capable to classify conductive materials, where the Pure DC system lacks in this functionality. The Output voltage of Hall Effect sensor to test with steel, aluminum and stainless steel is 4.68 V, 1.74 V and 3.63 V, respectively. Furthermore, the use of the Combined DC system enables aluminum thickness to be distinguished. The tolerance of the system measuring the materials when using the Pure DC and Combined DC are pm 0.0697% and pm 0.58530% respectively.

This study presents the design of subsidence monitoring system for industrial machine alignment based on magnetic field method. The system was developed to demonstrate the level of land subsidence in the area of the industrial machine located. A computer was used to collect the data and to display the angles of subsidence over operation period. The measurement module consists of two thin-and-curve permanent magnets (10 mm x 41.5 mm x 1.5 mm) with the outer radius of 24 mm, the curve angle of 120 degree, and the maximum magnetic density of 0.23 Tesla. The gap between these two magnets was 12 mm to generate the magnetic tension force. The sensing module was Hall Generator placed perpendicularly to the magnetic fluxes which can generate the output voltage as a function of subsidence angle and magnetic density on X axis and Z (vertical) axis with the resolution of 100 mV per degree. There were two ranges of measurement according to the angle resolution: -20 to 20 degree at 1 degree of resolution per step and -6 to 6 degree at 0.05 degree of resolution per step. ©ICROS.

Capacitive variation of capacitive sensor was analyzed by using two parallel plates coated by 0.4 mm- thick nylon and fixed together by resin to maintain the distance of those two plates at 2.5 mm and 5 mm. In this study, stainless and copper were used for development of capacitive sensor. In this paper Ethel alcohol solution is used as a case study. Ethel alcohol solution with the concentration ranging from 95% to 5% with 10% step decrease of concentration diluted by distilled water was experimented under the controlled temperature of 23°C and the frequency was varied from 100 Hz to 2 kHz with 500 Hz interval. The capacitive variation analyzed from the equivalent circuit which was obtained from the developed sensor was then compared to the electrical circuit obtained from the Good Will R-L-C instrument model CRT to analyze for the appropriate material and the distance between two parallel plates (d) of the sensor. This proposed methodology was developed with consideration of the simple design for easy fabrication and low costs with high accuracy and reliability of the results. ©2009 IEEE.

This paper presents the study of uncertainty in measurement as well as the error compensation of the industrial temperature instrument under various conditions for precise and reliable results of the measurement. In this study, the temperature calibration system of PT100 was used as a case study. Data used in analysis were collected from 200 values of repetitive temperature measurement in the range of 25 °C to 100 °C using Data logger together with a computer to process, analyze, and collect in database system which was developed from Visual Basic. The efficiency and characteristics of the developed system were statistically analyzed from error, mean, standard deviation, and uncertainty of each measured value to improve the reliability of the instrument which is used in industrial processes.
