Item type:Publication, Effect of different crosslinking agents on properties of dual modified starch biodegradable films prepared by crosslinked-oxidized method(2020-01-01) ;Tanetrungroj, YossathornDual modified starch films were prepared by using crosslinked-oxidized starch via hydrogen peroxide and different crosslinking agents, including borax and a mixture of sodium trimetaphosphate/ sodium tripolyphosphate. The effect of different crosslinking agents on the properties of dual modified films was examined and compared to single modified starch films. The crosslinked and oxidation reactions were confirmed by diminished intensity peaks of hydrogen bonding and new IR peaks of carbonyl and carboxyl groups. Tensile strength and hydrophobicity of native starch film, and elongation of crosslinked starch films were improved by crosslinked-oxidized method, especially for crosslinked starch film with borax. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effect of dual modification on properties of biodegradable crosslinked-oxidized starch and oxidized-crosslinked starch films(2018-12-01) ;Tanetrungroj, YossathornDue to poor properties of biodegradable native starch (NS) film; in this work, dual-modified starch films i.e. crosslinked-oxidized starch (C-OS) and oxidized-crosslinked starch (O-CS) films were prepared and compared to single-modified starch i.e. crosslinked starch (CS) and oxidized starch (OS) films. All modified starch films were oxidized and crosslinked using hydrogen peroxide and boric acid by casting technique. Degree of crystallinity and swelling behavior of both dual-modified starch films were found to decrease. Moreover, O-CS film showed smoother fractured morphology than C-OS and NS films. Both C-OS and O-CS films presented not only high stress at maximum load and Young's modulus but also high strain at maximum load, as compared to single-modified film. Furthermore, water vapor permeability, thermal property and biodegradability of all modified films were also studied.2 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effect of starch types on properties of biodegradable polymer based on thermoplastic starch process by injection molding technique(2015-01-01) ;Tanetrungroj, YossathornIn this study effects of different starch types on the properties of biodegradable polymer based on thermoplastic starch (TPS) were investigated. Different types of starch containing different contents of amylose and amylopectin were used, i.e. cassava starch, mungbean starch, and arrowroot starch. The TPS polymers were compounded and shaped using an internal mixer and an injection molding machine, respectively. It was found that the amount of amylose and amylopectin contents on native starch influence the properties of the TPS polymer. A high amylose starch of TPMS led to higher strength, hardness, degree of crystallization than the high amylopectin starch of TPCS. In addition, function group analysis by Fourier transforms infrared spectrophotometer, water absorption, and biodegradation by soil burial test were also examined.
