Meanwhile, FTIR results indicate the existence of mixture phases of ZnO:Sn in the compounds which were obtained via precipitation process. © 2014 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Structural, optical and photo catalytic properties of Cu-doped ZnO nanoparticles synthesised by co-precipitation method(2014-01-01) ;Thaweesaeng, N. ;Suphankij, S. ;Techitdheera, W.Pecharapa, W.In this work, co-precipitation method was utilised to synthesise Cu-doped ZnO nanoparticles using zinc nitrate (Zn(NO<inf>3</inf>)2·6H <inf>2</inf>O), and copper(II) nitrate trihydrate (Cu(NO<inf>3</inf>)2·3 H<inf>2</inf>O) as starting precursors for Zn and Cu sources, respectively. Structural and physical properties of as-prepared powders were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy (XANES). The XRD results reveal that Cu-doped ZnO nanopowders are in hexagonal wurtzite structure and their crystallinity deteriorates with increasing Cu doping content. FTIR results additionally show the existence of relevant chemical bonding in the samples. Meanwhile, XPS and XANES results indicate the existence of Cu ion with relevant electronic state in ZnO. Optical properties of the samples were investigated and the corresponding results suggest that Cu additive plays a crucial role in their optical properties that can be adjusted to meet the requirement for practical solar energy harvesting applications such as sun-light photocatalyst. The photocatalytic activity of as-prepared Cu-doped ZnO photocatalyst was investigated by the degradation of Rhodamine B solution. The catalyst with 6% Cu doping content exhibits the enhancement in photocatalytic activity with reaction rate of 0.0267 min-1. The significant improvement in photocatalytic activity of the doped sample may be associated to the increase of functional hydroxyl radicals due to the incorporation of specific content Cu dopant. Item type:Publication, Synthesis of vanadium oxide/titanium dioxide nanocomposites via sonochemical and hydrothermal process and their utilisation for energy storage application(2014-01-01) ;Kahattha, C. ;Techitdheera, W. ;Vittayakorn, N.Pecharapa, W.This work focuses on the synthesis of V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf>/TiO <inf>2</inf> nanocomposites by sonochemical and hydrothermal process. First, titanium dioxide (TiO<inf>2</inf>) nanopowders were synthesised by sonochemical process using titanium isopropoxide as a titanium source. Meanwhile, hydrothermal process was employed to modify the structure of commercial V <inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> powder to be nanorod-like structure V <inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> to increase its specific surface area. Structural and morphological properties of the composites were characterised by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. The XRD results indicate that the crystallisation of the composite corresponds to anatase and orthorhombic structures of TiO<inf>2</inf> and V <inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf>, respectively. The significant variation of charge storage properties of the composites under ultraviolet irradiation was obtained by varying V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> content in the composite. Results suggest that V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> loaded into the nanocomposite plays a key role as a storage material of photoelectrons generated by TiO<inf>2</inf> illuminated by ultraviolet irradiation. Item type:Publication, Preparation, characterisation and photocurrent study of sol-gel-derived Al, Mg-doped ZnO transparent thin films(2014-01-01) ;Chongsri, K. ;Techitdheera, W.Pecharapa, W.In this work, sol-gel spin-coating was employed to prepare ZnO, Al-doped ZnO (AZO) and Mg-doped ZnO (MZO) thin films onto glass substrates. Structural properties and surface morphologies of as-prepared films were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) while their optical properties were scrutinised from their transmission spectra measured by UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Their optical responses and sensitivity of the films were investigated by photocurrent spectroscopy. The XRD and SEM results show that the crystallinity and physical structure of as-prepared films are highly affected by Al and Mg doping. UV-VIS spectrophotometer results suggest that Mg and Al dopants could not only improve their optical transparency but also significantly cause the blue-shift in optical band gap of ZnO films. In addition, the enhancement in photosensitivity of ZnO films can be attained by specific Al and Mg doping content. Item type:Publication, Optical capsule for secure drug delivery(2013-09-18) ;Kulsirirat, K. ;Techitdheera, W.Yupapin, P. P.A generation of optical capsules and tweezers array within a modified optical add-drop filter known as PANDA ring resonator with a new concept is proposed. By using dark and bright solitons, the orthogonal tweezers can be formed within the system and observed simultaneously at the output ports. Under the resonant condition, the optical capsules and tweezers generated by dark and bright soliton orthogonal pair where the dark-bright soliton array with different center wavelengths and propagation in to the modified add/drop filter that can be generated the optical capsule. In principle, the molecule/atom is trapped and capsule by the force generated by reverse different combinations of gradient fields and photons interaction within the PANDA ring. In application, the molecules/atoms can be secured by using the dark-bright soliton reverse different combinations (optical capsule). Whereas the dark-bright soliton can be capsule as the molecule/atom, which can be used to molecule/atom transportation increased. Simulation result obtained has shown that the amplified power 12 W of the dark-bright soliton array capsule and with wavelength center around 1.40 - 1.50 μm at drop port and throughput port can be achieved, respectively. © 2013 SPIE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Investigation of milling time on particle size reduction and photoinduced activity performance of commercial TiO2 for optical energy harvesting applications(2013-09-18) ;Rattanarak, J. ;Mekprasart, W. ;Pecharapa, W.Techitdheera, W.In this research, effect of milling time on crucial physical structures of commercial TiO2 powders in form of anatase phase is investigated. The as-received commercial TiO2 powders were ball-milled with ethanol solvent at room temperature at various operating time ranging from 6-24 hrs. Particle sizes and surface areas of milled powders were characterized by particle analyzer and Brunauer Emmet Teller (BET) method.TiO2 surface morphologies of the powders milled at various times were monitored by scanning electron microscope. The photocatalytic activities of the milled powders were conducted by mean of the photo-induced degradation against RhB aqueous solution. The results reveal that particle size of the commercial TiO2 powders can be effectively minimized to few hundred nanometer range depending on milling time. The drastic reduction in their size results to the increasing active surface area of the particles and the enhanced photo-induced activity that was supported by the photodegradation performance. This enhancement can suggest them to the suitability in optical energy harvesting optoelectronic applications including photovoltaic devices, optical based sensors and related environmental-friendly usage. © 2013 SPIE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
