Item type:Publication, Accuracy Analysis of Indoor Positioning Using Min-Max Method(2025-01-01) ;Supanakoon, Pichaya ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Tabsombat, Sirinya ;Tiengthong, ThanadolPromwong, SathapornIn this paper, the accuracy analysis of indoor positioning using min-max method is proposed. The distance error model is applied to estimate the distance between the transmitter and user's position with different path loss exponent and fading amount of indoor channel. The total $\mathbf{1 0 0}$ coordinates of user's positions are estimated using min-max method. The distance error at each position, probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of distance errors are illustrated. The mean of analysis distance error corresponds with the mean of measurement distance error with same path loss exponent and fading amount of indoor channel. The results show that it is possible to use this accuracy analysis to estimate the distance error in an indoor environment. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study of RC Quadcopter and RC Fixed-Wing RCS Estimation in an Outdoor Environment with L-Band Primary Surveillance Radar(2022-01-01) ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Limsumalee, Nattawan ;Tonklang, Intouch ;Srimuang, PattrawutPhungasem, AnupanThis paper presents a study of remote control (RC) quadcopter and RC fixed-wing radar cross section (RCS) estimation with L-Band primary surveillance radar (PSR), working at 1215-1350 MHz. Both RC were tested in an outdoor environment by using vector network analyzer which set up in monostatic radar type. The results illustrate a characteristic of RC quadcopter and RC fixed-wing with the channel impulse response in L-Band primary surveillance radar at each angle in term of the RCS estimation. The RCS value when using the PSR L-Band frequency range changed with the structure. Moreover, overall, the RC quadcopter and RC fixed-wing RCS values are approximately the same, possibly due to the fact that both of them are made of plastic. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study on Accuracy of Min-Max Method Using Distance Error Model for Indoor Positioning(2022-01-01) ;Supanakoon, Pichaya ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Imsap, Nattapat ;Pakanon, NoppapadonChamchoy, MonchaiNowadays, the indoor positioning becomes a hot topic. The accuracy is necessary to be study in order to design the positioning system. In this paper, the accuracy of min-max method is studied using distance error model for indoor positioning. The estimated distance is evaluated from distance error model by using the received signal strength (RSS) with indoor channel consists of path loos and multipath fading models. After that, the estimated distance is used with min-max method to estimate the position of receiver and calculate the distance error. The distance error of each position is illustrated. The distance error with specific path loss exponent and standard deviation of multipath fading effect is shown and studied in the terms of probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF). The results show that the distance error is low at position near transmitter, slightly increased as the path loss exponent decreases and significantly increased as the deviation of multipath fading effect increases. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Analysis of RC Quadcopter RCS Estimation in indoor and Outdoor Environments with L-Band Primary Surveillance Radar(2022-01-01) ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Poorahong, Chinwat ;Mahakunwong, Korawit ;Singsathien, JateslidTrirattanawananon, NuttakornThis research is to study and analyze quadcopter radar cross section (RCS) in indoor and outdoor environments of L-Band primary surveillance radar (PSR), working at 1215-1350 MHz, using vector network analyzers. The research is divided into two parts, the first one is the RCS test of the quadcopter in an indoor environment compared to an outdoor environment. The second part is the RCS test of the quadcopter in an indoor environment while the quadcopter is flying in the air compared to the quadcopter mounted on a stand as in the first test. The results showed that the RCS of the quadcopter in both environments responded to the structure of the quadcopter in the same way, but the RCS of quadcopter in indoor environment has higher RCS anomality oscillation compared to the RCS of quadcopter in outdoor environment. In addition, the quadcopter that is flying in the air compared to the quadcopter mounted on a stand has found that the majority of the quadcopter' RCS is similar. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study of UWB indoor localization using fingerprinting technique with different number of antennas(2017-02-21) ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Promwong, SathapornSupanakoon, PichayaWireless sensor networks (WSNs) have been applied in various applications. Each application is developed in order to increase security, increase convenience to life and property. In this work, we have analyzed the application of WSNs to locate with fingerprinting technique on the standard of IEEE802.15.4a (Ultra wideband (UWB)) in terms of the number of antennas required when using line of sight (LOS) environment. The experiment was done by using a vector network analyzer (VNA) with biconical antennas. The frequency transfer function of the channel was measured at various locations. As a result, the use of delay time parameter of the UWB standard gave the best result. It was able to use only one antenna pair to identify areas accurately. Moreover, it saved time for doing the database, reduced size of the database and reduced some cost because the number of antennas was decreased. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Study on performance of ultra wideband and narrow band propagation for an indoor positioning(2016-07-18) ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Uppahad, Rattiya ;Supanakoon, PichayaPromwong, SathapornThis paper studies ultra wideband (UWB) and narrow band (NB) propagation in the frequency range of 3 GHz to 11 GHz. The UWB signal was used to follow the standard of IEEE802.15.4a in order to find the position in line of sight (LOS) and non-line of sight (NLOS) environment. Then, the sinusoidal frequency was tested in the frequency range of 3 GHz to 11 GHz, changing 1 GHz per step in order to analyze and compare with the UWB standard. The experiments were done by using vector network analyzer (VNA). Four conditions were studied in LOS and NLOS environment for indoor positioning. The four condition are the parameters; UWB standard; polarizations; and the frequencies. For the positioning determination, a location pattern technique was used with a minimum root mean square (RMS) error matching algorithm to find the position. Finally, a suitable condition is shown, and it has an accuracy of 91.11% at 1 meter. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Localization of index finger using radar cross section measurements for touchless keypad model(2015-10-01) ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Supanakoon, PichayaPromwong, SathapornThis research paper has proposed the use of radar cross section (RCS) measurements as input parameters with a minimum root mean square (RMS) error matching algorithm on a touchless keypad model for localization of human’s index finger. To compare the localization performances, path loss input parameters are also used in the experiments. The touchless keypad model is tested in two different distances between the finger and the keypad under varying conditions. The experiments on the touchless keypad model are carried out in accordance with the IEEE802.15.3a (full band) and IEEE802.15.4a (high and low bands) ultra wideband (UWB) standards and in the horizontal polarizations. This research also examines the effects of Rx angles relative to the finger and of human factor on the RCS parameters by experimenting with seven volunteers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Indoor radar cross section measurements of aluminum hollow rod for ultra wideband applications(2015-10-01) ;Vinicchayakul, Wipassorn ;Supanakoon, PichayaPromwong, SathapornScattering signals, which scatter from furniture items, walls or objects in an indoor environment, affect on the received signals. Furthermore, the scatters have an effect on the radio wave propagation. Therefore, the effects of the scattering signals from the items on the radio wave propagation are investigation and analysis. For this reason, this paper presents an effect between the scattering signals and an aluminum hollow rod in a frequency range of 3.0–11.0 GHz of ultra wideband (UWB) and each angel. Then, the aluminum hollow rod was moved to follow each location in order to test for the UWB applications. An experimental set-up was set by using a vector network analyzer (VNA) for bistatic radar cross section (RCS) measurements in an indoor environment. Then, the scattering signals from the aluminum hollow rod were analyzed in term of the RCS. After that, the RCS was applied to the UWB applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Performance comparison between UWB and NB propagation models for an indoor localization(2015-04-22) ;Vinicchayakul, WipassornPromwong, SathapornNowadays, an indoor localization has been widely employed in some applications such as finding itself in a department store. Nevertheless, general indoor localization has the moderate effectiveness which some applications require high accuracy to use in emergency situations. Thus, the indoor localization has been improved in many ways. Normally, most methods are acceptable to use in finding a location within the building such as WLAN with the fingerprinting technique. Therefore, the fingerprinting technique was used in this paper. Then, narrowband (NB) and ultra wideband (UWB) signals were compared in order to show about the efficiency in the indoor localization. The channel model was used from VNA at the frequency range 3 GHz to 11 GHz. As the result, the best result of UWB localization modeling has yield as 90.84% at 1 meter accuracy value in 3 rooms whereas the best result of WLAN localization modeling has yield as 36.64% at 3 meters accuracy value in 3 rooms. Then, UWB signal is more suitable than NB signal. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Improvement of fingerprinting technique for UWB indoor localization(2014-01-01) ;Vinicchayakul, WipassornPromwong, SathapornThe indoor localization is highly desired for elevation in the industrial, public safety and medical technology. Its significant requirement is a high accuracy in dense multipath fading environments. This paper improves the main problem of indoor localization by using fingerprinting technique based on ultra wideband (UWB) channel measurement. In addition, the neural network algorithm is used to find the location that has 3 dimensions, x plane, y plane and z plane. The first path loss, the delay times of the first part, the average path loss and the average of delay time were applied to create the ultra wideband radio propagation parameters for fingerprinting technique. the results are shown in terms of histogram of distance errors between update and non-update the databases and countour graph of each of distance errors on the coordinates. According to the results, the fingerprinting technique with update database can identify the location more correctly than the fingerprinting technique with non-update database. It had accuracy at 1 meter as 88.57%. while the fingerprinting technique with non-update database was affected from the environment and the accuracy at 1 meter was lower than the fingerprinting technique with update database all the times of experiment. © 2014 IEEE.
