Academic IoT laboratories often rely on shared equipment, making efficient borrow-return management essential. Conventional management methods depend on manual recording, which can cause verification delays, data entry errors, and increased staff workload. This study proposes a YOLO based IoT equipment tracking system that uses a camera to detect and count devices inside student equipment boxes for borrow-return recording and inventory monitoring. The system runs on a Raspberry Pi 5 for real-time edge-based processing, while detection results are stored in a database and displayed through a web-based dashboard. Experimental results show that the YOLO12n model achieved an F1-score of 0.996 with a real-time inference speed of 12.01 FPS, demonstrating the system's effectiveness in reducing human error and improving laboratory inventory management efficiency.

This research concerns the design and development of an assistive system based on eye tracking, which can be used to improve the quality of life of disabled patients. With the use of their eye movement, whose function is not affected by their illness, patients are capable of communicating with and sending notifications to caretakers, controlling various appliances, including wheelchairs. The designed system is divided into two subsystems: Stationary and mobile assistive systems. Both systems provide a graphic user interface (GUI) that is used to link the eye tracker with the appliance control. There are six GUI pages for the stationary assistive system and seven for the mobile assistive system. GUI pages for the stationary assistive system include the home page, smart appliance page, eye-controlled television page, eye-controlled air conditional page, i-speak page and entertainment page. GUI pages for the mobile assistive system are similar to the GUI pages for the stationary assistive system, with the additional eye-controlled wheelchair page. To provide hand-free secure access, an authentication based on facial landmarks is developed. The operational test of the proposed assistive system provides successful and promising results.

This paper presents the implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) for monitoring and control in the tethered drone PMU (Power Management Unit) system. Traditionally, power source of a drone is from battery which causes the tradeoff between weight and flight time. To overcome this limitation, stationary tethered drones consume energy from a ground energy source thru light weighted power cords. Tethered drones' benefits are ideally suited for military uses such as border security and surveillance system, where day-night surveillance capabilities are crucial to monitoring perimeters. It can also be used for tactical communication, fast-deployed relay stations. Since a long operation time, monitoring and control power onboard becomes necessary. Using extra cords for communication will increase the airborne weight. This paper presents the exploitation of wireless IoT system for the tethered drone PMU system. It consists of the PMU-ground constantly delivering 4000W power to PMU-air for BLDC motors also various payloads. With additional IoT including Raspberry Pi, NodeMCUs and sensors, users at ground station can monitor voltage and current values in real-time, also can control MOSFET switches connected with loads onboard via PMU touch screen monitor or smart devices.

This research presents a low cost web-based remote laboratory system for a feedback control system class. The system is created by an inexpensive single-board computer (Raspberry Pi 3B+) as laboratory server, an edge of extinct Lego Mindstorms set as a controlled plant, and an IP camera system. The laboratory server based on Ubuntu, which is a free and open-source software and the web application is written with JavaScript based on a MEAN stack platform. The proposed laboratory is used for verifying a design project of the angle control system using Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control.
