Item type:Publication, Single-Layer Wideband CP CPW-Fed Antenna based on Staircase-Shape Metasurface(2021-01-01) ;Supreeyatitikul, Nathapat ;Akkaraekthalin, PrayootPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis research proposed a single-layer wideband circularly polarized (CP) coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna based on staircase-shaped metasurface (MTS) for C-band applications. The proposed CPW-fed antenna was a single-layer, which consisted of 4 × 4 periodic staircase-shaped MTS on the upper layer, a CPW feed, and a rectangular slot ground plane on the lower layer. A linearly polarized (LP) wave was generated by a CPW with a slot ground plane and converted to a circularly polarized wave by staircase-shaped MTS elements. The dimensions of the proposed antenna were 0.54 × 0.54 × 0.04 at the lowest operating frequency. The simulated results of impedance bandwidth (IBW) and axial ratio (ARBW) at the center frequency of 5.2 GHz were 67.3% (4.1 - 7.6 GHz) and 15.9% (4.8 - 5.7 GHz), respectively. The maximum gain was 5.6 dBi at 5.3 GHz. The radiation patterns of the proposed CPW-fed antenna based on staircase-shaped MTS were right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) characteristic radiation at the operating frequency. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A broadband dual-sense circularly polarized antenna(2017-04-26) ;Lertsakwimam, Kittima ;Phongcharoenpanich, ChuwongFukusako, TakeshiA dual-sense circularly polarized antenna is proposed with a broadband 3-dB AR characteristics. The antenna consists of circular ring, four straight probes, which are place in along diameter direction of ring, four straight bars, and a reflector. The antenna is excited by the four straight probes to obtain both right hand circular polarization (RHCP) and left hand circular polarization (LHCP). The antenna has a 10dB-retum loss from 1.1 GHz-2.2 GHz, and the 3dB Axial Ratio (AR) bandwidth is from 1.2 GHz-2.1 GHz (the relative bandwidth is 54.5 %) and more than -30dB-level of isolation in frequency range of 1.4-1.7 GHz. The antenna element broadside gain is approximately 9.5 dBic at 1.7 GHz. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The design of linear and circular polarization for dual band microstrip slot antenna(2014-01-01) ;Pomsathit, Auttapon ;Rakluea, Paitoon ;Anantrasirichai, Noppin ;Benjangkaprasert, ChawalitWakabayashi, ToshioThis paper presents a lightweight antenna for wireless communication systems. The proposed antenna has been designed to be a dual-band and dual-polarized antenna by using a right-angled slot structure fed a by microstrip line. The designed antenna is composed of three right-angled slot radiators on the ground plane. The first two radiators are right-angled slots of similar scale which are added to generate circular polarization at 4.95 GHz, while the last one has been designed for linear polarization at 2.45 GHz. Furthermore, in order to achieve dual-band operation and dual polarization with good matching, a special arrangement is proposed. The results of simulation and measurements such as return loss, axial ratio, and radiation patterns are shown at the resonant frequencies of 2.45 and 4.95 GHz. Details of the experimental results are presented and discussed. In addition, the presented antenna can operate and cover the applications of a wireless local area network (WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/j/n). © 2014 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
