To solve the housing damage problem of a fractured compressor blade (CB) caused by an impact on the inner casing of a gas turbine in the seventh stage (from 15 stages), modifications of the trailing edge (TE) of the CB have been proposed, namely 6.5 mm curved cutting and a combination of 4 mm straight cutting with 6.5 mm curved cutting. The simulation results of the modifications in both aerodynamics variables C<inf>l</inf> and C<inf>d</inf> and the pressure ratio, including structural dynamics such as a normalized power spectrum, frequency, total deformation, equivalent stress, and the safety factor, found that 6.5 mm curved cutting could deliver the aerodynamics and structural dynamics similar to the original CB. This result also overcomes the previous work that proposed 5.0 mm straight cutting. This work also indicates that the operation of a CB gives uneven pressure and temperature, which get higher in the TE area. The slightly modified CB can present the difference in the properties of both the aerodynamics and the structural dynamics. Therefore, any modifications of the TE should be investigated for both properties simultaneously. Finally, the results from this work can be very useful information for the modification of the CB in the housing damage problem of the other rotating types of machinery in a gas turbine power plant.

This article is purpose of the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation for blood parameters separated by centrifuge machine which has different spinning velocities. The structure of the machine, as a fixed tube at 30 degrees from the base is used to prove that the precipitate of the blood's 2 parameters, such as blood cell and plasma, by using the simulation from computer In three dimensional (3D) symmetry modeling to study the change of the precipitate in centrifuge at different velocity of spinning. At 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm, 4000 rpm and 5000 rpm(round per minute) the result of this simulation showed the density of blood as low density in the top of the blood it's mean plasma and high density at the bottom of the tube it's mean blood cell. From the model in centrifuge can prove that in each different level of the density from velocity of spinning that useful for study to improvement of blood parameters separated by used computer simulation.

This paper proposes a new method for choosing interacting positions that affect team performance on multiple team assembly in an organization. Various approaches for replacing team members are also reviewed and adjusted so that the resulting team obtained will be as effective and efficient as possible. This multiple team assembly is a combinatorial optimization problem that focuses on examining complexity in an organization. The objective of the problem is to achieve maximum performance of the team while at the same time trying to reduce the expected number of replacements and the expected number of trials needed to arrive at that performance level. Computer simulation is used to implement and demonstrate the proposed ideas. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.

This paper presents a generalized aggregation model for representing a group of induction motors. The mathematical equations and computer models are detailed. The model, then, is used to predict the starting current from. The group of induction motors. Tests are performed on various sizes of induction motors so that the model can be verified. Results, obtained from measurements, are compared with those from simulations. It is found that the proposed aggregation model is able to give satisfactory results for determining the starting current from the group of induction motors.
