Item type:Publication, Sentiment analysis of the awareness of environmental sustainability(2024-01-01) ;Kularbphettong, Kunyanuth ;Roonrakwit, PattarapanBoonseng, ChongragThis study examines the sentiment analysis of awareness of environmental sustainability. Environmental sustainability is the responsible management and utilization of Earth's natural resources to meet the needs of the present generation and ensure that future generations will access those resources. The awareness of environmental sustainability has been growing globally as people, businesses, and governments recognize the importance of preserving the planet for current and future generations. Sentiment analysis of environmental sustainability involves evaluating opinions, attitudes, and emotions expressed in texts related to environmental sustainability, and analyzing sentiment can provide insights into public perception, awareness, and engagement with environmental issues. This exploratory study's primary goal is to conduct social media opinion mining in the context of Thai people's environmental sustainability. The paper presented how to build a model of sentiment analysis with linguistic analysis, including data preprocessing steps, feature extraction, and model constructions. The techniques used in this research include Logistic Regression, Random Forests, Support Vector Machine, Word Segmentation and Bag of Words. The result shows that the model is able to categorize sentiment analysis opinions in the sustainability context primarily in positive terms. The positive sentiments suggest a sustained, long-term shift in awareness, or they might be influenced by specific events or trends. However, positive sentiment analysis results are expressed towards environmental sustainability initiatives, such as renewable energy projects, waste reduction efforts, or conservation programs. Moreover, public awareness plays a crucial role in influencing individual behavior, corporate practices, and government policies towards a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Management of Green Economic Infrastructure and Environmental Sustainability in One Belt and Road Enitiative Economies(2022-05-01) ;Chen, Jian; ;Kun, Li YuUllah, SanaGreen infrastructure has been considered as one potential solution for improving air quality as well as enhancing environmental sustainability in the modern era. Therefore, the study aims to examine the impact of green economic infrastructure on environmental sustainability in one belt and road initiative (OBRI) economies for the period 2007 to 2019. For empirical investigations, the study adopts 2SLS and GMM approaches. The study uses three proxies to measure green economic infrastructure, namely, green logistics, use of the internet, and green technology. Our 2SLS findings demonstrate that green logistics increases CO2 in OBRI, Central Asia, MENA and reduces CO2 in Europe. However, GMM findings report that green logistics increases CO2 in OBRI, central Asia, and MENA and reduces CO2 in Europe. While our 2SLS findings show that internet use reduces CO2 in OBRI and East and Southeast Asia Europe and increases CO2 in MENA. While GMM findings reveal that the use of the internet reduces CO2 in OBRI and Europe and increases in East and Southeast Asia and MENA. While green technology also enhances environmental sustainability in OBRI. Based on the findings, environmental policies can be revised for OBRI economies.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effect of zinc ion concentration on crosslinking of carboxymethyl cellulose sodium-fumaric acid composite hydrogel(2021-05-26) ;Uyanga, Kindness A. ;Iamphaojeen, YuwandaDaoud, Walid A.Anionic polysaccharides are known to react in unconventional patterns with di-valent metal ions to form 3D-structured hydrogels. However, little is known about the influence of divalent ions concentration on hydrogel formation. Herein, carboxymethyl cellulose based hydrogels crosslinked with zinc ions (Zn2+) and fumaric acid are synthesized and characterized for swelling, structure, morphology and thermal properties, and the effect of Zn2+ concentration on hydrogel properties is investigated. It was found that increasing Zn2+ to 0.5 M enhances gel fraction and water absorbency, at which super-absorbent yet stable, crystalline (79% crystallinity index) FA-0.5 exhibiting water-absorbency (2259%) and stability toward water (51%) and heat (−3.17 mW and 0.9% degradation at 50 °C) is formed. The results reveal that crosslinking is influenced by Zn2+ concentration and interaction with other hydrogel components. The hydrolytic and thermal properties of FA-0.5 shows potential as a stable biomaterial.2
