Item type:Publication, Gain improvement of dual-band circular monopole antenna for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications(2019-01-01) ;Lamultree, Suthasinee ;Jansri, ChaleePhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis paper presents a gain improvement of dual-band antenna for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications. The radiating element of the proposed antenna consists of a circular disc monopole with circular-slot laid on FR-4 substrate and backed by a partial ground plane. This partial ground plane is modified to improve its radiation performance. This proposed antenna operates over the frequencies of 2.4-2.485 GHz and 5.15-5.825 GHz with nice radiation characteristics and magnitude of S11 better than -10 dB. An EM simulator has been used in the design and simulation. In addition, an experimental validation was set and measured to compare with the simulated results. All numerical results will be reported and discussed in the paper. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Gain and radiation improvement technique for rectangular patch antenna(2009-01-01) ;Satthamsakul, S. ;Puntheeranurak, S. ;Benjankaprasert, C. ;Anantrasirichai, N.Wakabayashi, T.This paper proposed the techniques for improved gain and radiation patterns include bandwidth enhancement of patch antenna by cutting slots in the ground plane. We proposed three styles of slot cut in the ground plane. There are narrow slot, wide slot, and wide slot with conductor strips. Each style is shown the gain improvement with wideband use in X-band communication systems. Finally, the gain is 6.96 dBi at frequency 10.5 GHz and the average gain from 8 to 10.5 GHz is 4.97 dBi. The radiation pattern shown the low back lobe with good directivity.
