Item type:Publication, Structural, optical and electrochemical performances of undoped and Sn2+-doped Bi2Te3 nanoparticles on WO3 electrodes(2020-01-01) ;Buddeesao, Mirantee ;Raknual, Duanghatai ;Tubtimtae, Auttasit ;Vailikhit, VeeramolTeesetsopon, PichananA facile synthesis approach was used to prepare Sn2+-doped Bi<inf>2</inf>Te<inf>3</inf> nanospheres on a WO<inf>3</inf> electrode, and the pseudo-capacitive property was measured for samples prepared with optimum parameters. SEM micrographs revealed that after the Sn2+ doping, the morphology of Bi<inf>2</inf>Te<inf>3</inf> changed from aggregated or network-like nanoparticles to smaller nanospheres with a homogeneous distribution. The X-ray diffraction pattern showed rhombohedral Bi<inf>2</inf>Te<inf>3</inf> coated on the WO<inf>3</inf> electrode. Due to the more abundant electro-active sites and charge carriers that diffused through the electrolyte to the working electrode, the Sn2+-doped Bi<inf>2</inf>Te<inf>3</inf> electrode displayed the highest specific capacity of 41.4 mAh/g at a scan rate 10 mV/s, a power density of 0.63 kW/kg, an energy density of 24.5 Wh/kg, and an LSV breakdown potential of 0.26 V. These materials may be applied in potential pseudo-capacitors and in further energy storage devices. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Removal of metals using a ZnO/Au composite under visible-light illumination(2018-01-01) ;Thonglim, P. ;Sirivichai, M. ;Thanjai, O.Locharoenrat, K.Gold nanoparticles embedded into a ZnO film are prepared with a simple spin-coating technique. Photocatalytic performance of the film is studied under irradiation with the visible light. We suggest to increase the amount of Au nanoparticles in the ZnO matrix (from 0 to 400 mg in our particular case) to improve photocatalytic efficiency of the film via a combination of plasmonic-resonance and Schottky-barrier effects. We choose Fe2+ as a model representative of metals available in the wastewater. It is demonstrated that the ZnO/Au films with increased Au content reduce efficiently the amount of ferrum ions in the water solution. In particular, the film with the content ratio ZnO:Au = 1:2 serves as a good absorber for removing Fe2+ in case if their initial concentration is equal to 0.2 mM. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Lattice evolution and point defect chemistry in Ta-doped ceria(2017-02-25) ;Charoonsuk, T. ;Vittayakorn, N.Kolodiazhnyi, T.Point defects in donor-doped ceria impact the physical, chemical and electronic properties. This work reports on the point defects in Ta-doped ceria, relating the changes in the lattice parameters with the type and concentration of point defects. The accurate Ce3+ quantification using magnetization method is a key factor in solving the defect equilibria. Combining the experimental data and lattice expansion models it is demonstrated that the extra positive charge of Ta5+ donors is compensated by both the Ce3+ and the oxygen interstitials. An accurate quantitative analysis of the lattice expansion indicates that the theoretical calculations significantly overestimate the effect of the lattice response to oxygen interstitials. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that at high temperatures the anion Frenkel defects, whose concentration increases with the Ta substitution level, bring additional lattice expansion. The calculated enthalpy of formation of the anion Frenkel defects (H<inf>AF</inf> = 3.27–4.24 eV) for Ta-doped ceria is in good agreement with the ab-initio calculations and with the experimental values for the U-doped ceria. Furthermore, the accurate data of the lattice expansion caused by the interstitial oxygen reported here can be used to better understand and to predict the ‘swelling’ of the isomorphous UO<inf>2</inf>, PuO<inf>2</inf> and NpO<inf>2</inf> nuclear waste materials. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Photostability testing for coumarin-153 doped ZnO thin films prepared with spin-coating technique(2016-01-01) ;Brankov, MarijanaLocharoenrat, KitsakornThe main aim behind the present study is solar cells of increased efficiency and low cost per unit of power generation, specifically dye-sensitized cells. Their first component is semiconducting ZnO commonly used to build photovoltaics, which absorbs sunlight in the ultraviolet region. The second component, the dye coumarin-153 that absorbs in a lower-energy spectral region, enhances the light harvesting. We study the optical absorbance and fluorescence for the combination of coumarin-153 with ZnO nanoparticles, which are prepared in sol-gel films formed using a simple spin-coating technique for creating a stable photovoltaic.
