Item type:Publication, Optimized Circularly Polarized Patch Antenna with Horizontal and Side Slots for UHF RFID Readers(2025-01-01) ;Wichakoon, Worathan ;Nuangwongsa, KanawatPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis paper presents the design and optimization of a circularly polarized UHF RFID reader antenna. The initial radiator dimensions were set at 130 mm × 130 mm, and the feed position was fine-tuned, with simulations identifying x, y = 24.5, 24.5 mm as the optimal location for impedance matching. Further optimization focused on reducing the ground plane size, with a 170 mm × 170 mm ground plane providing the optimal balance, ensuring an axial ratio below 3 dB and stable |S| (dB) response across the 920-925 MHz frequency band. The final design demonstrated an improved radiation pattern and sufficient gain, making it an effective solution for UHF RFID reader applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, High-Gain Wideband CP S-shaped Slot Antenna with Metasurface Reflector for UHF-RFID Readers(2022-01-01) ;Supreeyatitikul, Nathapat ;Boonpoonga, AkkaratPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis research proposes a high-gain wideband circularly polarized (CP) S-shaped slot antenna with metasurface (MTS) reflector for UHF-RFID handheld readers. The proposed antenna consisted of the S-shaped slot antenna with coplanar waveguide feed on the upper substrate and 4 × 4 periodically-arranged plus-sign-shaped slot MTS unit cells on the lower substrate functioning as a reflector. The MTS reflector was utilized to realize the high-gain of the CP S-shaped slot antenna. To achieve wide impedance bandwidth (IBW) and axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW), the evolution of the antenna was developed in four stages. The simulated IBW and ARBW of the Antenna IV (proposed antenna) at 0.9 GHz (center frequency) were 37.7% (0.66-1 GHz) and 27.7% (0.72-0.97 GHz), respectively. In addition, the maximum gain was 7.56 dBic at 0.78 GHz with left-hand circular polarization (LHCP) radiation characteristics. The dimension of the proposed antenna was 0.35?0 × 0.35?0 × 0.195?0. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A Design and Fabrication of Rectangular Slot Antenna for UWB-BAN Applications(2022-01-01) ;Kempet, Pitak ;Watcharapupong, AkkradachPromwong, SathapornBody area network becoming a promising technology for a rapidly growth of a wireless medical applications. The ultra-wideband technology takes a vast attention by many developers due to an impulse radio transmission system. Therefore, the ultra-wideband gain big advantage to use for a wireless body area network application. This paper aims to design and fabricate a novel wideband antenna that can operate in the high-band of the ultra-wideband technology regarding to the Japan's regulation for the ultra-wideband technology, i.e., 6.5 GHz - 11.5 GHz. A rectangular slot antenna with line slit fed by a coplanar waveguide is proposed in this paper. The antenna structure is simply made on a FR-4 Epoxy substrate with a dimension of 30 mm x 35 mm x 1.6 mm (W x L x H). The results are show as a comparison between a simulation and measurement, which clearly seen a good characteristic of the proposed antenna. Hence, the proposed antenna is good to use for the body area network applications with the ultra-wideband technology. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design of a 24 GHz pattern reconfigurable slotted Yagi-Uda antenna on substrate integrated waveguide(2013-09-02) ;Limpiti, T.Krairiksh, M.This paper presents the design of a linearly polarized pattern reconfigurable antenna whose configuration employs a single feed and a low profile cavity backed slot antenna. The grounded coplanar waveguide feed is adopted to excite the slotted Yagi-Uda structure which is constructed on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). The whole antenna is thus completely constructed on a single layer of a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate. The concept of pattern reconfiguration is based on switching function between the director- and the reflector-parasitic slots of PIN diodes. This antenna is designed to operate at the frequency of 24 GHz that there are various applications, e.g., Doppler sensor in automotive and industrial applications, security applications, and communication applications. The simulation results show good matching and interesting performance in reconfiguring the radiation patterns. © 2013 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A Steerable Spherical Slot Array Antenna(1999-01-01) ;Krairiksh', Monai ;Thongsopa, Chanchai ;Phongcharoenpanich, Chuwong ;Khoomwong, EkajifLeekpai, ChaiwafThis paper investigates the principle of a steerable spherical slot array antcnna. By combining the advantages of a spherical array in which the beam shape can be kept constant as it is steered in any direction, a simple beam steering mechanism of an active array antenna and a simple array element, a cost effective steerable antenna can be achieved. This antenna is useful in a mobile communication system.
