Item type:Publication, Effects of Zinc and Aluminum on the CuO Crystalline Size for Direct Dimethyl Ether Synthesis from Syngas(2021-09-01) ;Thongkam, Montree ;Piyabunditgul, Nanchapak ;Trisupakitti, SomsukRungrojchaipon, PesakThe effects of zinc and aluminum on the CuO crystalline size for direct dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis from syngas were investigated. Metal oxide catalysts were synthesized with various molar ratios of CuO by the precipitation method, and by the co-precipitation method with CuO/ZnO (CZ), CuO/ZnO/Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> (CZA), and CZA at ratios of 1:1, 2:2:1, and 6:3:1, respectively. The acid catalysts (γ-Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>, HZSM-5) were added to the metal oxide catalysts by physical mixing. The catalysts were characterized morphologically and their acidities were determined. Loading of zinc and aluminum at different ratios showed that CZA (2:2:1) gave the smallest CuO crystalline size, appropriate for the methanol synthesis reaction. γ-Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> has a weak to moderate acidity range, suitable for DME synthesis. Moreover, the bifunctional catalyst, CZA (2:2:1)/γ-Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>, had the highest surface area as well as the highest %CO conversion and %DME selectivity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Synthesis of CuO nanoparticles by precipitation method using different precursors(2013-01-01) ;Phiwdang, Kankanit ;Suphankij, Sineenart ;Mekprasart, WanichayaPecharapa, WisanuCuO nanoparticles were synthesized by precipitation method using different precursors as copper nitrate (Cu(NO<inf>3</inf>)2) and copper chloride (CuCl2) with post-heating comparing between as-synthesized and after calcinations. Relevant properties of as-synthesized nanoparticles were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. Overall results suggest that the formation of CuO nanostructures with different shape, size and morphology can be achieved using different precursors via this process. The improvement in their crystallinity and purification can be further attained by post calcinations process. © 2013 The Authors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Sonochemical synthesis and characterization of copper oxide nanoparticles(2011-01-01) ;Wongpisutpaisan, Narongdet ;Charoonsuk, Piyanut ;Vittayakorn, NaratipPecharapa, WisanuCopper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were synthesized by a sonochemical process using copper nitrate and sodium hydroxide in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a starting precursor. The precipitated product was calcined at various temperature ranging from 400-700°C. The physical microstructure and morphology of as-calcined nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). From XRD observation, it is evident that the high purity CuO nanoparticles were obtained by this synthesis process. It was additionally revealed that its crystallization and particle size was strongly dependent on the reaction time and calcination temperature. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
