Item type:Publication, Characteristics of a circular vertical patch antenna with cross-strip above cylindrical reflector(2007-12-01) ;Phaebua, Kittisak; Kosulvit, SompolIn this paper, a circular vertical patch antenna excited by probe with cross-strip above cylindrical reflector is proposed. The proposed antenna is used at base station for point-to-point communication in wireless local area network systems (WLAN). The antenna is analyzed by CST (Microwave Studio) program. The measured results of the prototype antenna operating at 2.45 GH z yields an impedance bandwidth (2:1 VSWR) of 32.60% (2.23-3.10 GHz). The antenna has unidirectional radiation pattern with front-to-back ratio (F/B) of greater than 26 dB in E-plane and H-plane. Maximum gain is about 9.7 dBi from measurement. The half-power beamwidth is 56 degree in E-plane and 58 degree in H-plane. The cross polarization of greater than 30 dB in both planes has been obtained. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Probe-fed rectangular ring antenna with a cross-strip for low cross-polarization(2006-05-01) ;Srimoon, Duang Arthit; In this paper, a probe-fed rectangular ring with a cross-strip for wireless local-area network system is proposed. The antenna is analyzed by using the three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method. The effects of various parameters on the characteristics of the antenna are studied. The computed and measured results for the return loss and co- and cross-polarization patterns are presented and compared. A prototype antenna operating at 2.44 GHz shows an impedance bandwidth (2:1 VSWR) of 13.06% and a gain of 9.5 dBi. Good radiation characteristics, including a cross-polarization level in both E- and H-planes greater than 26 dB and a front-to-back ratio (F/B) of radiation pattern greater than 16 dB, have been obtained. © 2006 IEEE.
