Item type:Publication, 1H NMR-based machine learning methods for rapid authentication and composition profiling of crude palm oil(2026-09-01) ;Nggofur, Abdul ;Sueviriyapan, Natthapong ;Nuntawong, Noppadon ;Sutthiumporn, KetsadaSooknoi, TawanA rapid analytical workflow for determining geographical origin and predicting fatty acid composition of crude palm oil (CPO) was developed using <sup>1</sup>H NMR, GC-FID, and machine learning. Analyzing CPO samples from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand using unsupervised fingerprinting with principal component analysis (PCA), t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE), and uniform manifold approximation and projection (UMAP) revealed partial origin-based grouping. Supervised classification, validated via leave-one-out cross-validation (LOOCV) and uncertainty quantification (UQ), reliably discriminated the origins above random chance. Additionally, partial least squares regression (PLSR) accurately predicted oleic, linoleic and myristic acid levels measured by GC-FID, whereas the accuracy decreased for lauric, stearic and palmitic acids. PLSR reliability was rigorously validated using latent variable selection and permutation testing to rule out random correlations. Overall, this integrated <sup>1</sup>H NMR and machine learning approach offers a rapid tool for CPO geographical traceability and compositional evaluation, demonstrating its potential for industrial quality control. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Capacitive measuring of crude palm oil-water mixture(2017-12-13) ;Sriphant, Pongsakun ;Srongprapa, AnupongKlongratog, BhanupolOil palm is one of the famous commercial crops of Thailand. The production is in the 3<sup>th</sup> rank of the south east Asia, and plantation is still increasing every year. To investigate the feasibility of using electrical capacitance measuring technique as an alternative method for low-cost non-destructive, oil palm fresh oil (CPO) and water have been prepared and studied. One group is concerned with the immiscible fluid and another is all ultrasonic shakes. The mass concentration (x) of CPO varied from 0 g/cm<sup>3</sup> to 0.9 g/cm<sup>3</sup> and then all experiments were tested on room temperature (25<sup>o</sup>C). Guard parallel structure has been used in conjunction with AD7747 capacitive to digital converter to obtain capacitance value (y). The results show that y = 0.11987x<sup>2</sup> - 0.46104x + 0.47418 with r<sup>2</sup> = 0.98098. The model for second sample is y = 0.08965x<sup>2</sup> - 0.41335x + 0.3731 with r<sup>2</sup> = 0.9554. The capacitance of first sample is higher than the second sample. As previously mentioned, this project aims to make benefit of interest on seasonable optimistic harvests.
