Item type:Publication, Leveraging advanced technologies and strategies for port cyber resilience: Strengthening incident response and recovery(2025-11-01)Senarak, ChalermpongThis study assesses incident response and recovery (IRR) tasks and their integration with smart technologies in port cybersecurity, with a focus on Laem Chabang Port (LCP), Thailand. Using the Delphi method, expert consensus was gathered to identify essential IRR tasks, challenges in their implementation, and smart technologies for improvement. The findings emphasize three key components for effective IRR: well-structured tasks, enhanced communication mechanisms, and the integration of emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain. These technologies facilitate real-time monitoring, incident classification, and recovery coordination, thus enhancing both proactive and reactive cybersecurity measures. While the study focuses on LCP, its findings are applicable to ports globally, offering actionable insights for improving IRR frameworks, enhancing system integrity, and optimizing recovery efficiency. The study also highlights the need for transparent communication strategies and suggests the adoption of smart technologies to align with the global digital transformation of port operations. Future research should explore broader stakeholder involvement, comparative studies across ports, and empirical validation of smart technology effectiveness in real-world cybersecurity incidents. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Shifting our focus from fossil fuel-based energy to sustainable and promising renewable energy sources, like geothermal energy (GE), is crucial to addressing the ongoing energy crisis. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the significant factors influencing the adoption of GE to support the national grid of an emerging economy like Bangladesh. An integrated framework consisting of the Delphi method, fuzzy total interpretive structural modeling (TISM), and fuzzy Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (MICMAC) analysis was utilized in this study to evaluate the hierarchical interrelationships among the significant factors. The findings indicate that the top two influencing factors are the “scope for new investments and employment” and the “growing need for inexpensive and renewable energy sources”. The study's findings can offer significant insights to decision-makers and policymakers, which can aid in the development of long-term strategic plans to facilitate the successful adoption and integration of GE and promote sustainability and low-carbon economy in the energy sector. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A Delphi study to build consensus on strategies for adult vocational training of higher education institutes in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region China(2024-01-01) ;Wei, GuangpeiTuntinakhongul, AmpapanAdult vocational training of higher education institutes has great potential to help workforce coping with uncertainties of the fast-changing Labor market in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. However, the lack of clarity regarding strategies for effectively establishing adult vocational training in higher education institutes may hinder progress. The aim of this study was to develop agreed strategies of adult vocational training for higher education institutes in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The 3-round Delphi method used semi-structured interviews and questionnaires to explore and reach an agreement on the future direction of the strategies. The semi-structured interview was used in the first round to explore the ideas in relation to such strategies. the questionnaires were used in the second and the third rounds to explore further and reach the consensus on expert opinions defined at interquartile range (IQR) ≤ 1. Besides that, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods were used to calculate the weights of each consented statements. Through Delphi method, the comprehensive strategies have been articulated with the highlights of 1 vision, 6 goals and 40 actionable strategies. furthermore, the experts commonly highlighted that the vision of future adult vocational training shall prioritizes cultivating skilled professionals with industrial needs, offering everyone accessible opportunities for career development. Besides that, the result also showed that reskilling and upskilling and extending the leaners’ interpersonal networks have been ranked as the two most important goals for future adult vocational training in higher education institutes. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, USING A MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING APPROACH IN CONJUNCTION WITH A DELPHI STUDY TO IDENTIFY FACTORS INFLUENCING POLLUTANT EMISSIONS(2023-01-01) ;Atthirawong, Walailak ;Leerojanaprapa, Kanogkan ;Somboonwiwat, TuanjaiLuangpaiboon, PongchananPollution is currently a major concern in Thailand and other countries around the world. The Thai government has made environmental degradation a priority, emphasizing the benefits of reducing pollution generated by heavy industries. To be successful, a variety of efforts and authority at all levels are required. This study adds to the existing literature on identifying factors that reduce pollution emissions in the plastic industry using a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. Two-phase methodologies were used to identify and rank such factors from a practical standpoint. From the first phase, two rounds of the Delphi method yielded three main criteria and 12 sub-criteria. Regarding that, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to rank those factors. The findings indicated that the top three sub-criteria for According to the findings, the top three sub-criteria for reducing pollution emissions were "determination of standard improvement of pollution discharge at source clearly" (19.55%), "improvement of production efficiency" (15.32%), and "set up action plans for emergency pollution accidents from industry" (11.04%), respectively. Among the main factors, "Source reduction" has the highest rank (40.4%). Item type:Publication, Factors affecting location decisions in international operations - A Delphi study(2003-01-01) ;MacCarthy, B. L.Atthirawong, W.Only a limited amount of research has been reported on factors influencing international location decisions for contemporary manufacturing operations. In this paper a comprehensive set of factors that may influence international location decisions is identified from an analysis of the existing literature. Results are presented from a Delphi study that used a worldwide panel of experts to investigate factors affecting international location decisions. Findings are reported on the motivations of firms in seeking to manufacture across national borders and the key steps that should be followed in making international location decisions. The top five major factors identified that may strongly influence international location decisions generally were: costs, infrastructure, labour characteristics, government and political factors and economic factors. Ten key sub-factors identified were: quality of labour force, existence of modes of transportation, quality and reliability of modes of transportation, availability of labour force, quality and reliability of utilities, wage rates, motivation of workers, telecommunication systems, record of government stability and industrial relations laws. Additional sub-factors of increasing importance include: protection of patents, availability of management resources and specific skills and system and integration costs. The factors identified have implications for management practice, for policy-making by governments and other agencies and for academic research in international operations.
