Item type:Publication, A dual-band rectangular shape incorporated into circular patch antenna for 2.4/5 GHz wireless local area network applications(2025-02-01) ;Lamultree, Suthasinee ;Somsanook, Nattakarn ;Narkkoht, WararakPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis research exhibits a design of a dual-band patch antenna (DBPA) implemented by a rectangular shape incorporated into a circular patch together with a pair of half-wavelength inverted U-slots (HWIUSs) with the single feed for 2.4/5 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. For this work, the HWIUSs are key in designing a dual-band antenna. The DBPA is fed by a 50-Ohm microstrip line, printed on a copper layer overlaid on an FR4 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.3 and height of 1.6 mm, while the bottom layer is backed by a partial ground plane. An antenna prototype with a dimension of 0.384λL×0.304λL×0.013λL was contrived and admeasured to verify the simulation. The measurement provides a nearly omnidirectional pattern with a 2.55 and 3.3 dBi peak gain covering a dual-band 10 dB return loss bandwidth of 15% (2.4–2.8 GHz) and 20% (4.96–5.86 GHz), respectively. Noticeably, simulated |S11| and radiation patterns are reasonable following experimental results showing its potential in 2.4/5 GHz WLAN services. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A compact dual-band circular monopole antenna with partial ground plane for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications(2019-03-01) ;Lamultree, Suthasinee ;Jansri, ChaleePhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongIn this paper, a compact dual-band antenna for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications is presented. Geometry of a presented antenna consists of a circular-slot printed on a circular monopole with a partial ground plane, operated at 2.45 GHz and 5.5 GHz bands, respectively. It is constructed by using FR-4 substrates with ϵ<inf>r</inf> of 43 and 0.035 mm copper layer thickness. This antenna is compact with a size of 70 mm×80 mm×1.6 mm, and it is capable to easily integrate with other circuits. It is shown that this proposed antenna wholly covers the required bandwidths ranging from 2.4-2.485 GHz and 5.15-5.825 GHz with desirable radiation characteristics and magnitude of S<inf>11</inf> better than -10dB. To verify the simulation, an antenna prototype was made up and measured. Obviously, the simulation results are in well acceptance with the measured one. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Gain improvement of dual-band circular monopole antenna for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications(2019-01-01) ;Lamultree, Suthasinee ;Jansri, ChaleePhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis paper presents a gain improvement of dual-band antenna for 2.45/5.5 GHz WLAN applications. The radiating element of the proposed antenna consists of a circular disc monopole with circular-slot laid on FR-4 substrate and backed by a partial ground plane. This partial ground plane is modified to improve its radiation performance. This proposed antenna operates over the frequencies of 2.4-2.485 GHz and 5.15-5.825 GHz with nice radiation characteristics and magnitude of S11 better than -10 dB. An EM simulator has been used in the design and simulation. In addition, an experimental validation was set and measured to compare with the simulated results. All numerical results will be reported and discussed in the paper. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Dual-band conical-scanning Yagi-Uda antenna(2017-10-18) ;Kittiyanpunya, ChainarongKrairiksh, MonaiA dual-band conical-scanning Yagi-Uda antenna is presented. The proposed antenna is composed of dual-band director elements, dual-band driven elements, and planar reflectors which the alignment of each element is not on the same plane of the dual-band driven elements. The PIN diodes are used in order to change position of driven elements and directors. The patterns can be switched in four directions that main beams are in the zenith angle of 30°. It is shown that the dual-band antenna for 1 and 2 GHz operation achieves an impedance bandwidth of 8.5% and 12.5%, respectively. The front-to-back ratio of conical beams is higher than 8 dB. The antenna gain is around 6 dBi. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A dual-band dual-feed switched-beam patch antenna for WLAN application(2008-01-01) ;Tagapanij, Jukkrit ;Sooksumrarn, Pobsook ;Tantisopharak, Tanawut ;Janin, SuwanKrairiksh, MonaiDue to the demand of dual-band modern wireless communications, this paper presents a dual-band patch antenna for IEEE802.11 a and g wireless local area network (WLAN) system. The antenna has bidirectional patterns that can be switched by an RF switch to select the feeding probe positions. The 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz patches are stacked on a ground plane and are matched to the RF switch by open stubs. Analysis and design are illustrated and throughput improvement is demonstrated in an indoor environment. Item type:Publication, A dual-band dual-feed switched-beam single patch antenna(2007-12-01) ;Sooksumram, P.Krairiksh, M.With the demand of dual-band operation in modern wireless communications, this paper proposes a low profile switched-beam patch antenna. It is a patch antenna that operates at 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz by designing microstrip transmission lines to short the low frequency patch with the high frequency patch for low-band operation. These transmission lines open circuit to separate the two patches to allow the high frequency patch operate solely. By selecting appropriate transmission line width and length, the antenna provides switched-beam patterns at the design frequencies. This antenna is significant in developing a low profile dual-band phase array of switched-beam elements.
