Lighting systems account for a significant proportion of energy consumption in buildings. Therefore, energy conservation within these systems can greatly enhance overall building energy efficiency. This study proposes a control strategy for LED lamps by adjusting lighting intensity and improving the performance of electric luminaires. The approach involves implementing an automated dimming system that adapts lighting intensity based on surrounding light levels. A system comprising an ambient light sensor, microcontroller, power supply module, dimming controller, and lamp was developed. The sensors measure brightness within a specified range in real time, and the microcontroller analyzes and compares this data against the brightness settings for specific areas. The designed control system was tested in a laboratory setup to demonstrate its effectiveness in a controlled environment. Results showed a 75.65% reduction in power consumption compared to standard lamps in a simulated environment, highlighting its potential for significant energy savings in buildings and its contribution to environmental sustainability.

In this paper, the authors investigate the current state of the lighting design and control sector in Thailand's creative industry. The government aims to promote the creative industry as a key source of income, but there needs more skilled professionals in the industry. The authors have found that successful cases have used the Internet for remote controlling in the creative industry in other countries. Therefore, the paper will explore the potential of using technology to improve professional efficiency and assess the feasibility of implementing remote lighting control systems via the Internet with Thai lighting designers and lighting console operators. Data will be collected through qualitative in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys. The results have shown a promising acceptance rate of wireless devices for lighting control due to their mobility, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and positive attitudes toward adopting Internet technology. The authors have also proposed a concept design for an internet-based control system tailored to Thai users, focusing on simplicity, ease of connection, and user-friendliness to accommodate those with limited network configuration knowledge. The proposed system aims to reduce professionals, save time, and increase convenience, leveraging Thailand's extensive wireless internet coverage. These systems could significantly benefit Thailand's creative industry by addressing the shortage of skilled professionals and improving efficiency.

There are many ways to save energy in a building. One of the ways is through bioclimatic adaptation of the building where it is sited. It can particularly be done in tropical countries since tropical countries exhibit invariability in climatic conditions. These advantages have brought the attention of architects and engineers to design a passive strategy in buildings to accomplish energy-efficient buildings, by utilizing the natural provision of energy, for instance, natural daylight. The potential part of the energy saving in buildings, in tropical countries, is cooling and daylighting, in which room heating in tropical countries would be unnecessary as the average room temperature is normally above thermal comfort. This part was, therefore, to be explored in the design of energy-efficient buildings. This chapter attempts to explore the possible ways of adapting the buildings to bioclimatic conditions of the locality through designing the elements of the buildings to maximize the use of natural power and thus minimize the energy consumption in the buildings for lighting and cooling. The study was based on a long observation in some cities in Indonesia, as most cities in this country stockpile potential influence toward minimizing energy consumption in buildings, if appropriately explored and utilized.
