Item type:Publication, Lookup Table Technique by using Irradiation Intensity and Duty Cycle for Faster MPPT Application(2023-01-01) ;Lapkitticharoenchai, YuttikarnJangwanitlert, AnuwatThis research shows how Lookup Table technique can track MPP. This method uses calculation to find the exact value of duty cycle that make PV panel reach MPP. Therefore, its speed is faster than classical techniques especially P&O because knowing the exact value of duty cycle can make the controller control the switching device that makes PV reach MPP directly. Moreover, the swing at MPP is less P&O. However, the Lookup Table technique still be relied P&O to track MPP in the first period for automatically recording data into the Table for the Lookup Table technique. Hence, this method is going to be combined by both of P&O and Lookup Table. It is relied on the condition which technique is going to be operated. Lookup Table technique will be operated instead of P&O when the recorded data are enough and under defined the conditions that will be explain in this paper. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Novel MPPT Methodology by using Daily Recorded Lookup Table Technique: Relationship between Duty Cycle and Temperature(2022-01-01) ;Lapkitticharoenchai, YuttikarnJangwanitlert, AnuwatThis paper shows the new technique of tracking Maximum Power Point (MPP) that is faster than P&O one. Furthermore, it can reduce the swing of MPP but P&O technique never deal with. This technique uses automatically selective technique between P&O and Lookup Table to reach MPP. At first, the controller selects P&O technique to track MPP and record the data on relationship between temperature and duty cycle into the Table. When the data in the Table are more enough and the recent temperature value is under defined condition, the controller will change P&O to Lookup Table technique automatically. However, the recorded data in the Table will be reset every day for tracking MPP accurately. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Development of Converter and Control System for Variable Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator in Small Hydro Power Plant Model(2022-01-01) ;Thanajitr, Chatchaphong ;Polmai, SompobKittiratsatcha, SupatIn micro and small hydro power plants, the flow and head of the water fluctuate seasonally. The torque-speed characteristic of hydro turbine requires variable speed operation of generator to always obtain maximum power generation. This paper presents variable speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous generator and maximum power point tracking for small hydro power plant. The INC-like maximum power point tracking algorithm is proposed and implemented. The experimental results validate the proposed algorithm. However the speed fluctuations are observed and have to be addressed in future study. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Interleaved buck-boost charger by using automatically selective technique between P&O and Lookup Table for novel MPPT application(2016-09-06) ;Jaisa-Ard, YuttikarnJangwanitlert, AnuwatThis paper shows the circuit and methodology of the new charger for tracking MPP on any level of irradiation by using Matlab Simulink Program. The circuit is the Interleaved Buck-Boost that is used to reduce output of ripple voltage and ripple current. The methodology is used and combined between P&O MPPT and Lookup Table MPPT. However, the P&O MPPT is the basic system to control the tracking of MPPT and record the values of both irradiation intensity and duty cycle in the Table. When the real value of irradiation intensity is under defined condition, the system operation will turn P&O MPPT to Lookup Table MPPT automatically. Therefore, the system operates MPPT quickly and solves the problem of the variation value of MPPT. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Improved particle swarm optimization algorithm using average model on MPPT for partial shading in PV array(2014-10-15) ;Jumpasri, Nattawat ;Pinsuntia, Kittapas ;Woranetsuttikul, Kaweepoj ;Nilsakorn, TaywinKhan-Ngern, WerachetThis paper presents the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to improve the system operation during shading in photo voltaic array. This technique was based on the swarm optimization algorithm using average model. The algorithm has the simple topology and accuracy calculation. The PV system composed of the PV array, the synchronous buck-boost converter which can control the output voltage with the same polarity of both source and load. The PV array operating simulation was done by the PowerSim program where the MATLAB program simulates the particle swarm optimization with average model in various partial shading. Finally, the experimental results using average model show a fast response with good agreement of that simulation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparison of distributed and Centralized control for partial shading in PV parallel based on Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm(2014-10-15) ;Jumpasri, Nattawat ;Pinsuntia, Kittapas ;Woranetsuttikul, Kaweepoj ;Nilsakorn, TaywinKhan-Ngern, WerachetThis paper presents the comparison of Distributed Control and Centralized Control for partial shading in PV parallel based on the Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm. The distributed control is the connection of PV 1 panel with 1 MPPT and the centralized control is the connection of many PV panels with 1 MPPT. Both methods have difference advantage, efficiency, cost and maintenance. The simulation of both methods made in Powersim and Matlab Simulink. The analysis and conclusion were included. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Maximum power point tracking using neural network in flyback MPPT inverter for PV systems(2012-12-01) ;Konghuayrob, PoomKaitwanidvilai, SomyotGenerally, perturb and observe (P&O) technique is widely adopted in photovoltaic (PV) system to maximize the output power. In flyback inverter, the modulation index needs to be adjusted based on the P&O algorithm. However if the changing step size of modulation index (Δma) is too large, the fast MPP (Maximum Power Point) tracking can be achieved but the power oscillation around the MPP will be large. In contrary, the small changing step size results in long tracking time and small oscillation. Consequently, this paper proposes a technique to adjust the changing step size (Δma) of Flyback inverter to achieve both acceptable tracking time and low power oscillation. In the proposed technique, irradiance is adopted as the input of a neural network which is used to estimate the appropriate modulation step size. Simulation results confirm that the proposed neural network based inverter can find the appropriate changing step size (Δma) which is adequate for any irradiance conditions. © 2012 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Maximum power point tracking using fuzzy logic control for photovoltaic systems(2011-07-26) ;Takun, Pongsakor ;Kaitwanidvilai, SomyotJettanasen, ChaiyanIn this paper, a fuzzy logic control (FLC) is proposed to control the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for a photovoltaic (PV) system. The proposed technique uses the fuzzy logic control to specify the size of incremental current in the current command of MPPT. As results indicated, the convergence time of maximum power point (MPP) of the proposed algorithm is better than that of the conventional Perturb and Observation (P&O) technique.
