Item type:Publication, Securing openflow controller of software-defined networks using Bayesian network(2018-07-02) ;Sophakan, NatnareeSathitwiriyawong, ChanboonSoftware-defined networking (SDN) is a new network architecture that has been proven to enhance network performance and reliability. OpenFlow is one of the most acceptable standards for building SDN solutions. Although OpenFlow promotes logically centralized control of network switches and routers in SDN environment, security is of major important for SDN deployment. The security of OpenFlow controller can be optionally implemented using Transport Layer Security (TLS). The aim of this research is to strengthen the security of the existing OpenFlow controller that can still be coupled with TLS implementation. Basic packet filtering was initially employed by inspecting the properties of each packet individually and then Bayesian network (BN) classifier was used to detect and filter unusual packet flows. Subsequently, this work was tested using Mininet as a network emulator for prototyping SDN controller functions on Ryu controller platform. The results show that the proposed work can significantly mitigate network attacks with small processing time and therefore help strengthen the security of the existing SDNs. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Multi-Wavelength optical network security generated by modified add-drop filter(2017-10-19) ;Tunsiri, Surachai ;Soysouvanh, Saysamone ;Mitatha, Somsak ;Phongsanam, PrapasMuangsong, IttisakThe multi-wavelength optical network security system generated by using an optical nonlinear material within the modified add-drop optical filter for network security is proposed. By using the dark-bright nonlinear pulse control, the optical multi-wavelength can be constructed and applied to securely transport within the network. The advantage is that the dark and bright nonlinear pair (components) can securely propagate for long distance without electromagnetic interference. In operation, the optical intensity from modified add-drop optical filter is established. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Packet filtering circuits for smart phones(2012-12-01) ;Sato, Tomoaki ;Moungnoul, PhichetFukase, Masa AkiSecurity measures for smart phones are important. Anti-virus software for smart phones can be used and the process consumes CPU resources. The CPUs of them are powerless CPU for an embedded system and those operations consume battery power. In this paper, the authors propose packet filtering circuits for smart phones. The packet filtering circuits are a firewall. Using the firewall is a means to protect smart phones from computer viruses and unauthorized access. In addition, they are used to control the power consumption and to reduce of detecting units for unauthorized access. The features of the circuits are to achieve those functions without reconstructing circuits. The operations of the circuits are verified by gate-level simulations. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A simultaneous generation of QKD and QDC via optical memory array for distributed network security(2010-12-01) ;Pongwongtragull, P. ;Mitatha, S.Yupapin, P. P.We propose a novel system of a simultaneous generation of continuous variable quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum dense coding (QDC) via an optical memory array. The optical memory system is formed by using an array waveguide incorporating a nano-ring resonator, whereas the different spatial light modes can be generated and stored within an optical memory unit. The polarized photon is formed and stored within a storing device, i.e. a ring resonator, whereas the different time slot entangled photons can be generated, transmitted and detected by the different subscriber in the distributed networks. By using the optical memory concept, the continuous variable quantum key distribution is provided. Furthermore, the use of quantum dense coding via time division multiplexing paths, i.e. different time slot, is also plausible. The advantage of the proposed system is that the quantum key distribution can provide the network top security with high capacity and safety, which is the large demand of usage in the public networks. © 2009 Elsevier GmbH. Item type:Publication, Dark-bright optical solitons conversion via an optical add/drop filter for signals and networks security applications(2010-10-01) ;Knobnob, B. ;Mitatha, S. ;Dejhan, K. ;Chaiyasoonthorn, S.Yupapin, P. P.We propose a new system of the darkbright solitons conversion using a micro- and nano-ring resonators incorporating an optical add/drop filter, where the add/drop filter can be used to convert the dark soliton to bright soliton. The key advantage of the system is that the detection of the dark soliton pulse is normally difficult due to low level of input power. Firstly, a dark soliton pulse is input into a micro-ring resonator, then propagating into smaller micro- and nano-ring resonators. Secondly, the add/drop filter is applied (connected) into the ring system, where the bright and the dark solitons are obtained via the drop and through (or throughput) the ports of the add/drop filter, respectively. The results obtained have shown that the detected soliton power can be controlled by the input soliton power and the ring resonator coupling coefficient, which is enough to use in the transmission link. The optical and the quantum networks using dark soliton are also discussed. © 2009 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
