Item type:Publication, High-Gain Dual-Band Reverse S-Patch Antenna Scheme for 5G Mobile Base Stations(2025-01-01) ;Udomratanasiri, Dhanapon ;Kawdungta, Supakit ;Pansomboon, Rassamitut ;Lertwiriyaprapa, TitipongPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis paper proposes a low-profile high-gain dual-band reverse S-patch antenna scheme that supports fifth-generation (5G) frequency bands for mobile base stations. In the antenna design, a reverse S-shaped radiation patch is used to achieve resonant at 2.6 GHz and 3.5 GHz, and an FR4 dielectric superstrate is included to enhance the antenna gain. The results show that the proposed reverse S-patch antenna scheme with dielectric superstate resonates at both target frequencies, covering 2.57-2.62 GHz and 3.46-3.55 GHz with unidirectional radiation pattern. The measured antenna gain are 5.0 dBi at 2.6 GHz and 4.0 dBi at 3.5 GHz. In essence, the proposed antenna scheme can be further developed into an array antenna with enhanced gain for 5G mobile base stations. The novelty of this research lies in the use of FR4 dielectric superstrate to enhance the antenna gain. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Optimized Circularly Polarized Patch Antenna with Horizontal and Side Slots for UHF RFID Readers(2025-01-01) ;Wichakoon, Worathan ;Nuangwongsa, KanawatPhongcharoenpanich, ChuwongThis paper presents the design and optimization of a circularly polarized UHF RFID reader antenna. The initial radiator dimensions were set at 130 mm × 130 mm, and the feed position was fine-tuned, with simulations identifying x, y = 24.5, 24.5 mm as the optimal location for impedance matching. Further optimization focused on reducing the ground plane size, with a 170 mm × 170 mm ground plane providing the optimal balance, ensuring an axial ratio below 3 dB and stable |S| (dB) response across the 920-925 MHz frequency band. The final design demonstrated an improved radiation pattern and sufficient gain, making it an effective solution for UHF RFID reader applications. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Compact High-Gain Dual-band Patch Antenna With Dielectric Superstrate for Wi-Fi 6 Applications(2023-01-01) ;Muangrung, Bhuwakorndit ;Lang, Alongkorn ;Torrungrueng, Danai ;Phongcharoenpanich, ChuwongKawdungta, SupakitThe compact high-gain dual-band double circular patch antenna with dielectric superstrate is introduced for Wi-Fi 6 applications. The double circular patch antenna can be operated at two frequency bands of 2.41-2.54 GHz and 4.94-6.03 GHz. The dielectric superstrate and parasitic patches are employed in front of the antenna to enhance the antenna gain. From simulated results, the dielectric superstrate and parasitic patches can improve the antenna gain. The proposed antenna has |S11| less than-10 dB in both operating frequency bands, unidirectional radiation pattern, and gain of 4.8 dBi at 2.45 GHz and 4.57 dBi at 5.5 GHz.
