Item type:Publication, YOLO Based IoT Tracking for Academic Labs on Raspberry Pi(2026-06-16) ;Jiamrachada, Tamakorn ;Nonsiri, Sarayut ;Kamin, PichitchaiNanthajirapong, NathaphonAcademic IoT laboratories often rely on shared equipment, making efficient borrow-return management essential. Conventional management methods depend on manual recording, which can cause verification delays, data entry errors, and increased staff workload. This study proposes a YOLO based IoT equipment tracking system that uses a camera to detect and count devices inside student equipment boxes for borrow-return recording and inventory monitoring. The system runs on a Raspberry Pi 5 for real-time edge-based processing, while detection results are stored in a database and displayed through a web-based dashboard. Experimental results show that the YOLO12n model achieved an F1-score of 0.996 with a real-time inference speed of 12.01 FPS, demonstrating the system's effectiveness in reducing human error and improving laboratory inventory management efficiency. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Design and Development of an Assistive System Based on Eye Tracking(2022-02-01) ;Paing, May Phu ;Juhong, AniwatPintavirooj, ChuchartThis research concerns the design and development of an assistive system based on eye tracking, which can be used to improve the quality of life of disabled patients. With the use of their eye movement, whose function is not affected by their illness, patients are capable of communicating with and sending notifications to caretakers, controlling various appliances, including wheelchairs. The designed system is divided into two subsystems: Stationary and mobile assistive systems. Both systems provide a graphic user interface (GUI) that is used to link the eye tracker with the appliance control. There are six GUI pages for the stationary assistive system and seven for the mobile assistive system. GUI pages for the stationary assistive system include the home page, smart appliance page, eye-controlled television page, eye-controlled air conditional page, i-speak page and entertainment page. GUI pages for the mobile assistive system are similar to the GUI pages for the stationary assistive system, with the additional eye-controlled wheelchair page. To provide hand-free secure access, an authentication based on facial landmarks is developed. The operational test of the proposed assistive system provides successful and promising results. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Exploitation of IoTs for PMU in Tethered Drone(2021-04-01) ;Wiangtong, Theerayod ;Pookaiyaudom, PanavySirisuk, PhaophakThis paper presents the implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) for monitoring and control in the tethered drone PMU (Power Management Unit) system. Traditionally, power source of a drone is from battery which causes the tradeoff between weight and flight time. To overcome this limitation, stationary tethered drones consume energy from a ground energy source thru light weighted power cords. Tethered drones' benefits are ideally suited for military uses such as border security and surveillance system, where day-night surveillance capabilities are crucial to monitoring perimeters. It can also be used for tactical communication, fast-deployed relay stations. Since a long operation time, monitoring and control power onboard becomes necessary. Using extra cords for communication will increase the airborne weight. This paper presents the exploitation of wireless IoT system for the tethered drone PMU system. It consists of the PMU-ground constantly delivering 4000W power to PMU-air for BLDC motors also various payloads. With additional IoT including Raspberry Pi, NodeMCUs and sensors, users at ground station can monitor voltage and current values in real-time, also can control MOSFET switches connected with loads onboard via PMU touch screen monitor or smart devices. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Development of Remote Laboratory for Feedback Control System Class(2021-01-01) ;Jitthammapirom, Piya ;Chayratsami, PornpimonSomha, WorawitThis research presents a low cost web-based remote laboratory system for a feedback control system class. The system is created by an inexpensive single-board computer (Raspberry Pi 3B+) as laboratory server, an edge of extinct Lego Mindstorms set as a controlled plant, and an IP camera system. The laboratory server based on Ubuntu, which is a free and open-source software and the web application is written with JavaScript based on a MEAN stack platform. The proposed laboratory is used for verifying a design project of the angle control system using Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Smart eye-tracking system(2018-05-30) ;Juhong, Aniwat ;Treebupachatsakul, T.Pintavirooj, C.This project is a smart eye tracking system which is designed for people with disabilities and elderly people. The concept of this research is to apply eye movement to control appliances, wheelchair and communicate with caretaker. This system comprises four components, imaging processing module, wheelchair-controlled module, appliances-controlled module and SMS manager module. The image processing module consists of webcam and C++ customized image processing, the eye movement image is captured and transmitted to Raspberry Pi microcontroller for processing with OpenCV to derive the coordinate of eye ball. The coordinate of eye ball is utilized for cursor control on the Raspberry Pi screen to control the system. Besides the eye movement, the eye blink is applied in this system for entering a command as when you press Enter button on keyboard. The wheelchair-controlled module is a cradle with two servos that can be moved to two dimensions and also adaptable to other wheelchair joysticks. This system also remotely controls some appliances and communicate with caretaker via send message to smartphone. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, New observing robot for elder(2017-12-19) ;Sangjun, Thichakorn ;Aierpaiboon, SurapanPintavirooj, C.This new observing robot is a robot attached with auto focus webcam camera at front side of its body which is controlled by user from a far distance and designed to be used in indoor environment. The robot is designed by using designed android application on android device with Visual Reality (VR) to control movement of camera and using joystick for the direction of robot. Both controllers transfer each position values pass through PubNub developer console and debugger to robot's operator which is Raspberry Pi 2 Module B. The objectives of this study are to produce the prototype observing robot which is controlled by using Android application and to create an internet connectable robot for the user or doctor to observe elder or patient in difference location. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Smart wheelchair based on eye tracking(2017-02-21) ;Wanluk, Nutthanan ;Visitsattapongse, Sarinporn ;Juhong, AniwatPintavirooj, C.This project is a smart wheelchair based on eye tracking which is designed for people with locomotor disabilities. The add-on controlled module can be used with any electrical wheelchair. The smart wheel chair consists of four modules including imaging processing module, wheelchair-controlled module, SMS manager module and appliance-controlled module. The image processing module comprises of a webcam installed on the eyeglass and C++ customized image processing software. The captured image which is transmitted to raspberry Pi microcontroller will be processed using OpenCV to derive the 2D direction of eye ball. The coordinate of eyeball movement is then wirelessly transmitted to wheelchair-controlled module to control the movement of wheel chair. The wheelchair-controlled module is two dimensional rotating stages that installed to the joystick of the electrical wheelchair to replace the manual control of the wheelchair. The motion of eyeball is also used as the cursor control on the raspberry Pi screen to control the operation of some equipped appliance and send message to smart phone.
