Item type:Publication, A Cylindrical Electrostatic Precipitator Design and Operating Voltage Calculation(2023-01-01) ;Yodrayub, Noppol; This research presents the method for electrostatic precipitator (ESP) design based on determining the initial parameter including inlet gas volume, collection efficiency, and particle diameter. In addition, the design for particle diameter 1 um from the incinerator dust which the migration velocity from the calculation is 0.087 m/s, collection efficiency 90%. The collection area can be calculated by using Deutsch-Anderson equation to estimate the total number of collecting electrodes and discharge electrodes. This research uses 2 mm for the diameter of the discharge electrodes, 76.2 mm (3 in) for the diameter of the collecting electrode, and 1 m for the length of discharge electrode and collecting electrode. The total number of each type of electrode is 31. The corona inception voltage from the calculation is 16.7 kV for the operating condition, temperature 150 °C pressure 1 atm, inlet gas volume 1000 m3/hr. However, the collection efficiency of ESP also depends on other factors, such as pressure drop and gas distribution in ESP, which neglecting in this research. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Surface Modifications in Pulsed Microcoma Streamer Plasma(2018-07-02) ;Teerakawanich, Nithiphat ;Jitkajornwanich, Kulsawasd ;Piriyanont, BusaraSrisonphan, SiwaponControlling liquids spreading on a surface has seen an increasing research interest over the past decade. Several methods of nanoscale surface modification via physical etching and chemical surface polymerization has been employed to engineer surfaces for various applications. The wetting properties transformation from superhydrophobic to super-hydrophilic, allowing a considerable degree of control over liquid spreading. It is essential to maximize the apparent contact angle on the surface, to achieve the high possibility of water absorption rate. Herein we substantiate the fundamental study of nanoscale surface modification via physical etching and chemical surface polymerization by using atmospheric cold plasma created by micro corona discharge. This study is simple, does not involve external chemical supplied for surface modification, and consequently can be applied to a wide range of materials.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Harmonic analysis of corona discharge ozone generator using brush electrode configuration(2000-01-01) ;Boonseng, C.; Apriratikul, P.This paper describes a new method of ozone generation particularly suited to use in water treatment. The authors present harmonic analysis and the ozone concentration generated by a new type of ozone generation. Relative harmonic distortions in line input have been investigated experimentally. The experimental results were obtained using a concentric cylinder with brush electrode separated by a glass tube. This configuration can avoid breakdown. Essentially AC high voltage is derived from a high voltage transformer, which is controlled by a flyback converter. The ozone generator can produce 64 ppm ozone at 15 kV output and switching frequency approximately 20 kHz. Finally, the effects of corona discharge power on the corona surrounding temperature and its relationship with ozone concentration have also been investigated.
