Item type:Publication, Tick fauna in grasslands on Mt. Aso and the possibility of the tick reduction to cattle by the essential oil(2025-12-08) ;Shibuya, Hikaru ;Tamagawa, Yoshiki ;Murata, Kouhei ;Tanapoon, MoungthipmalaiPuwanard, CheepchanokThe objectives of this study were to evaluate the tick fauna in the Aso region and the repellent effects and acaricidal activity of three plant–derived essential oils against ticks. It was revealed that the most dominant species of tick in the region was Haemaphysalis longicornis, with large annual fluctuations in the number of juvenile stages. The essential oils also showed significant repellent effects against H. longicornis and were highly toxic to this species. These results suggest that spraying essential oils on cattle in spring and autumn, when juvenile stages emerge, may be useful in controlling this species by disrupting infestation. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Stability of anthocyanin, carotenoid and root yield of 10 sweet potato genotypes(2024-12-01); ;Surach, Noppadol ;Phungam, Nittaya ;Janket, AnonBunphan, DarikaSweet potato roots are rich in phytochemicals. The objective of this study was to evaluate the stability of number of storage roots, storage root dry weight, harvest index and anthocyanin and carotenoid contents of 10 sweet potato genotypes. Ten sweet potato genotypes were evaluated in a randomised complete block design with three replications at three locations in Surin province, including Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI), Chomphra district and Sanom district during November 2022 to March 2023. Results indicated that the environment significantly influenced most traits, except for carotenoid content. Genotypes and genotype-environment interactions were significant for all traits. Number of storage roots was highest in genotypes found in RMUTI. Storage root yield and anthocyanin content was highest in genotypes found in Chomphra district, while harvest index and carotenoid content were highest in genotypes found in Sanom district. SR 2022/03 had the highest storage root yield across locations and in Chomphra district. KS 2022/07 had the highest harvest index and anthocyanin content across locations. SR 2022/10 had the highest anthocyanin content at RMUTI and also had the highest carotenoid content across locations. KS 2022/07 had the most stable storage root yield. SR 2022/01 had the most stable anthocyanin and carotenoid contents. Information on the levels and variability of phytochemicals in sweet potato enables breeders to select sweet potato genotypes with high and stable phytochemicals for sweet potato breeding.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, EVALUATION OF BIOACTIVITIES OF EICHHORNIA CRASSIPES PARTS EXTRACTS(2023-01-01)The aims of this research to study bioactivity of leaf, stolon and root extracts from Eichhornia crassipes that is an alien plant in Thailand. The determination of phytochemical exhibited that! leaf extract had the highest of flavonoid and tannin as 207.60 mg QE/g extract and 72.40 mg TAE/g extract, respectively. And root extract showed the highest level of anthocyanin as 17.53 mg cyanidin-3-glucoside/ l extract, while total phenolic contents not significant between leaf, root and stolon extract. To analyze antioxidant activity found that stolon extract had the highest scavenging activity that IC50 was 3.23 mg/ml. The antibacterial activity exhibited that stolon extract had the lowest minimum bactericidal concentration than other two extracts against Pseudomonas aeruginosa TISTR 781, Escherichia coli TISTR 780, Staphylococcus aureus TISTR 1466 and Yersinia enterocolitica. According to the phytochemicals and bioactivities results, stolon and leaf extracts of E. crassipes have potential for remedy and health care aspects to add value of this plant.
