Item type:Item, An analysis of competency, needs, and gap on Thai engineering capabilities within ASEAN(2018-01-01) ;Kraisuth, DuangpornSawmong, SudapornJust two nations in Southeast Asia have committed to programs and funding to prepare over 72, 000 new PhD researchers and academics for specific industries. This study, therefore, conducted both a quantitative and qualitative analysis of 412 Thai engineers selected from a population of 1211 Thai Federation of Industries companies to investigate how need, gap, and competency affected Thai engineer work capability. The structural equation model was conducted with AMOS 21 software and from the analysis, competency (β = 0.16) and needs (β = 0.77) demonstrated a significant effect on capabilities, while needs demonstrated a significant effect on the gap. Additionally, cultural awareness of other Asian regional nations ranked as the weakest link in an engineer's capability perception. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, A Thai banking industry organisational performance analysis(2017-01-01) ;Pranee, Tasanai ;Napompech, KulkanyaSrinuan, ChalitaThe purpose of this research is to determine the effects of talent management, technological innovation and service quality on Thai bank performance. The population of the study consisted of 14 registered banking enterprises along with their associated 2068 branches. Using the IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS v.21), 424 responses selected from a simple random sampling survey were analysed using both a secondorder confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modelling (SEM). From the 93-item survey, pre-trail test, and the in-depth interviews from five experts, a questionnaire reliability score of 0.98 was obtained. Findings revealed that technological innovation and service quality strongly influence the Thai banking industry's performance, and should be given great attention. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Cross cultural logistics and supply chain management towards organizational effectiveness within the asean/Thai automotive industries: A sem analysis(2016-09-01) ;Dansomboon, Suwaj ;Phimonsathienand, ThepparatFongsuwan, WannoAs a manufacturing, logistics and supply chain hub within ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), Thailand holds the 12th spot in global vehicle production for an estimated 2,355 Thai and multinational automotive industry enterprises. Within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Thailand ranks number one in automotive production contributing $US11.4 billion to the Thai economy and 12 percent to Thailand's GDP (Gross Domestic Product), with the automotive industry being Thailand's leading export sector. However, the automotive companies envisage the difficulty of cultural diversity to manage and coordinate. Therefore, cultural values from the milieu are inducted into the workplace and have a strong impact on both individual behavior and organizational effectiveness and must be direction at all levels for cross-cultural, organizational effectiveness to be achieved. It also became evident that natural disasters are frequent and highly disruptive to the global automotive supply chain and paces must be taken to countervailing the notable and continuing loss to economic growth and organizational effectiveness to both sector units and the global industry. The implementation of strategically placed, environmentally 'habituated', automotive parts logistics cache might be one solution to the problem. Given the crucial importance of this sector to the economy of the region and the global supply chain, the researchers surveyed 220 managers using a 7-point Likert scale questionnaire within the multinational industrial clusters of Thailand's 'Detroit of Asia' Eastern Seaboard region. Using Structural Equation Modelling to test the 11 variables on Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management and Organizational Effectiveness in a cross-cultural context, it was determined that collaboration within the supply chain and the exchange of information can reduce uncertainty, with trust being a key ingredient to a JV's success. Communication (0.836), trust (0.834) and collaboration (0.824) were ranked as significant components of cross-cultural Supply Chain Management effectiveness. The research also confirmed that the hypothesized difficulty from cultural diversity is difficult to manage and to coordinate. Analysis also confirmed the ongoing and significant problems to the global automotive supply chain by natural disasters and the consequential economic losses. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, An analysis of digital literacy skills among Thai university seniors(2016-01-01) ;Phuapan, Piatip ;Viriyavejakul, ChantanaPimdee, PaitoonDigital literacy and the associated skills are becoming the basic and essential skill set of any employer that wishes to survive in a highly competitive world.Given the global importance of these skills for many sectors including education, medicine, information technology, tourism, etc., the researchers sought to determine which digital literacy skills were most important in using digital technology, communications tools, and/or networks to access, manage, integrate, evaluate, create and communicate information in order to function in a knowledge society. From a multistage random sampling survey of 400 second semester university seniors finishing their degrees in 2014 at 9 Thai public and private universities, it was determined that the ability to evaluate was the most important skill indicator in the development of digital literacy. Analysis was conducted by use of LISREL 8.72. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Item, Path analysis of the core competency of thai private hospitals in the ASEAN economic community(2014-01-01) ;Ponanake, Pareeyawadee ;Limnararat, Sunpasit ;Pithuncharurnlap, ManatSangmanee, WoranatThe objectives of the research were to study path relations between a lean healthcare system, Six Sigma practice and internal quality management of core competency of Thai private hospitals to be an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) medical care center. The population and sample group of the study were the Hospital Accreditation (HA) officers of Thai private hospitals between December 2012 and May 2013. The sample group totaled 312 persons. The study tool included questionnaires and a path analysis was employed to analyze the data. The findings of the study determined that (1) The lean healthcare system indirectly influences, through internal quality management, a hospital's core competency to be an AEC medical care center, (2) Six Sigma practices directly influence a hospital's core competency to be an AEC medical care center, (3) Six Sigma practices indirectly influence, through internal quality management, a hospital's core competency to be an AEC medical care center, (4) Internal quality management directly influences a hospital's core competency to be an AEC medical care center.
